We are two 30 year old women - came across this mid day over last weekend and decided to do it - so glad we did! The mirror maze was awesome! We kept on the light refracting glasses the whole time while inside to make it tougher and had a blast trying to get out. The laser challenge was REALLY fun, wish I had one at my house to work out! We ended up buying more tokens to do the laser challenge again and then also tried out the whackamole type game next door (with the same tokens) which was also fun. Had left over tokens so we returned the next day to do them again!

This place is GREAT! We took advantage of everything they had to offer. We have a 6yr old and he absolutely loved the laser challenge. Picture trying to make it through an art museum and the security lasers to steel their most valuable piece and get back out. The staff here were all super friendly and always very happy and encouraging. Couldn't have enjoyed this more.

Not just for kids...
Even us adults enjoyed it. The 3d mini golf was great fun. I will definitely recommend this to everyone. The employees were very nice and eager to assist us.

We were hesitant to pay $12 for a 'cheesy' maze but hey....it ended up to be really fun! It's what you make of it. We took our time and were taking photos of our experience. We were laughing the whole time! We actually were really lost in there for a good 10-15 minutes! Again, we were taking our time though.

Make sure to wear your 3D glasses as these really add to the experience! There are disco type lights that go on and off inside the maze to confuse you even more with the 3D glasses.

There is also a lazer heist challenge. This was fun and difficult. We choose the 'hard' and 'expert' levels but there is an 'easy' and 'medium' level to choose from. Go to the 'coupons' tab on the Mirror Maze-Monterey website for 1 free Lazer heist challenge.

It seems so simple, a little cheesy and kind of gimmicky. It was a little bit of all those things, except it also ended up being a lot of fun. (Surprise!)

The mirror maze is pretty well made. In the time we were there, we definitely noticed a number of people who thought they had made it out but actually ended up coming out the original entrance, so it can confuse people in there! They give you prism glasses to make the whole experience even more psychedelic. I could take those or leave them; they didn't make a difference in how hard the maze was. The lights are flashy and not great for anyone who might be epileptic.

We actually had more fun in the lazer challenge. It's kind of like the cat burglar scene in Oceans Thirteen where you're trying to go through a room and hit a bunch of targets without breaking any of the lazers. The kids in front of us were really enjoying it but it is fun for adults too if you're willing to go with things and not afraid to look a tiny bit silly. My husband and I "raced" for best time through it to make it fun for us. If you're short on cash, the lazer challenge is cheaper and was probably the more fun of the two (for us).
