This hotel is a sleeper offering great location and proximity to Monterey, Carmel and Cannery Row. Food in Lounge is good but menu is limited and feels more like a bar menu.

Rooms are well appointed, modern and comfortable through out.

We did notice quite a bit of noise from the upper level units so I suggest you stay on the upper level.

Overall good experience and we will consider the Abrego when we visit again.

Room Tip: Pick rooms on the upper most level to avoid any potentila for noise problems and get a unit that fac...

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel , I usually get a dump when chosing on the internet by looking at the pics. BUT this one was great.. I loved my room on the 2nd fl. with fireplace. Coffee was excellent at the front desk , and the conveinience to everything was nice. I did not use the pool. Dennys is across the street and food was good. lots of eaterys in that area.

Room Tip: If you like the convenience of coffee and don't want to get outside , stay right there where I s...

We stayed in room 4105 on the first floor of the building across the parking lot from the hotel lobby. The room was clean and nice furnished with a flat screen tv and fireplace. We had 2 queen beds and enough room for our family of 4 (which included 2 teens). The bathroom was modern and clean. We could hear the people above us walking around and the door closing in the room next door. Being on the ground floor had advantages as we were able to park about 6 steps in front of our room. We got a great rate of $109 since my husband is an
NCGA member and got a discounted rate. (see the NCGA website). We would stay there again except I would ask for a 2nd story room. My kids and husband really liked this hotel, and we were happy with the price. Internet was free but very slow. Parking was plentiful and free!

We read the reviews before checking hotel abrego and decided to go for it. In hindsight, it's way over priced and we'd probably go up Munras and stay at one of the chains. They gave us a crappy room on the bottom floor. The first nite, we listened to one neighbors TV, the other neighbor doing what they were doing, and the neighbor above us stomping around. Didn't really sleep. We could hear the neighbor's TV as soon as we got in the room, so we asked for another room and were told there were none even though it was Thanksgiving and the place was empty.

Overall, the staff were surly everytime we made any requests. We have stayed in Monterey but for 1/3 of the cost. I don't recommend Hotel Abrego.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Our family just returned from Monterey and the Hotel Abrego. The experience was far beyond what we've had before in the Monterey area. The room was very comfortable, modern and spacious. Plenty of fresh clean towels, in room coffee and internet plus I-pod if needed. Breakfast was terrific; more than expected. We could hear some TV from another room but not for long. We will definitely return to this hotel again soon.

The hotel was nice and prices were reasonable for dinner althought the choices were limited. Hotel staff was very friendly too. The only think we didn't like is the noise level between rooms. We could hear the next door talking. We also got a noise complaint for just talking normally. W couldn't relax due to that.

Room Tip: Try to book a room with no one in the next door. The noise level is too high.

This is a great hotel for location. Booked 2 rooms. One pet room, and the other for my mom. Her room is gorgeous. Ours is nice. She has the fireplace and the roomy tub. Our room is huge, clean but not the nice bathroom reno and no fireplace. I guess pets don't appreciate a fireplace or a hot soak. Overall perfect location to walk to our favorites in Monterey. The hot tub was lovely under a star filled sky. Number one complaint we paid much more and got a little less. If you travel with your pet expect less. You pay more for the room and also the pet fee is high. Motel down the road is half the price for the pet fee. I don't quite get why pet owners get less but have to pay more.
