“They did not have our reservations and were very dishonest.”

Even with a confirmation number, they did not have our reservations and then called and referred us to a motel they "use to own." The Manager had not called the Otter Inn (one lie) and they did NOT use to own the motel (lie # two) they sent us to. It was a very busy weekend and thank goodness the Otter Inn had one room left or our vacation with all the planning would have been ruined. I do not know what good confirmation numbers are if the motel does not stand behind them. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

This place is disgusting. Me and boyfriend stayed at the room #103 for one night(August 2-3rd, 2010) and got bitten by their bed bugs. Following morning we filed a complaint about the their bed bug infestations and they didn't seem to care. Even the shift manager didn't want to step up and talk to us face to face. This nasty incident is causing us a lot of trouble. We had to throw away things we brought in to that hotel including the clothes that we had on and it also made me physically sick (gastritis- upset stomach because of worrying too much about potential bed bugs 'travel' issue). We discovered at least 2 bed bugs and took a picture and recorded a video of crawling bed bug.

I will let everyone I know about this hotel and will post more feedbacks at the major websites.

We arrive late in town and took a room here. It is a little run down and not a good deal. Breakfast was poor.

Clean, quiet large room within walking distance to Cannery Row. King room with very comfy bed and a fireplace, with a large bathroom. Very plain continental breakfast, but the lovely outdoor courtyard to eat it in was lovely. It was a little noisy in the morning with traffic, but would definitely stay there again!

Our room was fairly basic, but comfortable. Coffee maker, microwave, free breakfast and free wifi included in the $69, so no complaints. Good value.

I had done much research to determine what hotel would be the best for our one night stay in Monterey, and I am glad we decided on Cannery Row Inn. We paid 90 dollars through booking online on their website (making a reservation by phone is twice as expensive, which I didn't really understand but didn't quesion!) and paying the extra 20 dollars for a room with a bay view was worth it. We origionally were given a first floor view room, but when we asked if there was a top floor room, the desk clerk said that's fine, we just waited an extra hour while another room was prepared. He also let us park in the hotel lot at 10 am, well before the checkout time of 11 and our official checkin time of 3, which was great because we just walked to the aquarium and around the town without paying! The aquarium was about 10 minutes of walking down an interesting and beautiful area, no problem at all. Both he and another clerk were extremely friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. By getting a view, my husband and I could enjoy an evening beverage while watching a dolphin and several seals swimming around the water, and see the fog coming in in the morning. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets and comfy pillows. They also have free internet, just get the password at the front desk. The only thing was the minifridge didn't seem to be turned on, but we solved the problem by filling the ice bucket to chill our drinks. Compared to the hotels right next to this one, the (online) price was extremely reasonable, the location was great, and we really enjoyed our stay here!

My daughter & I stayed here for 1 night. The room she reserved was on the ground floor
which we really did not want, so she asked for & paid extra ($30.00) for a room on the 1st floor. It appeared okay until my daughter walked to the sliding glass doors & right in front of the doors was a used c_ _ _ _ m! She immediately called the desk & reported the find & said she thought we should get a full refund! They refused & offered to move us to another room. She then asked for a refund for the additional cost of the upper floor room. He said he would have to call his uncle/manager & would let us know. The new room was okay except for a gum wrapper between the beds. Are the housekeepers blind?!!? When we checked out the next morning we asked the front desk clerk about our refund request. After he called the previous day's desk clerk & reiterated the story, we finally got a $30.00 refund! It was like pulling teeth! I still think we should have gotten a full refund! Definitely not pleased & will certainly tell our story to anyone going to Monterey! Can't believe this was Triple A approved!!
