We were here for one night in early June as part of our big roadtrip up Highway One. We had orginally booked a small room for Monday night, but when we arrived we got a free upgrade to the honeymoon room with sea views and a jacuzzi to boot. The Alice In Wonderland theme was quite unique. We enjoyed all the small touches, such as happy hour drinks and hors d'oeuvres; milk and cookies at bedtime; sherry in the bedroom and a great breakfast.
Cannery Row is just a short walk away, but I think Monterey has seen better days on the whole.

We stayed in a small room with a detached bath. Bath was big and just ours but a bit down the hall. Wine and cheese was great, and we had a whole main floor library and sun room to hang out it.

Breakfast was wonderful, especially the Jabber Juice - a fruit smoothie.

The location was great, just a few blocks up the hill from the Cannery Row.

Not the friendliest B&B I have stayed in, and it was pretty expensive for a detached bath. Would probably stay again but also look around Pacific Grove/Montrerey for a cheaper place with a bath.

My husband and I stayed at the Jabberwock for one night in early August, 2006. We booked the Mome Rath, one of the larger rooms billed as having a bay view. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. However, the "bay view" was an extremely limited view, and could only been seen out the side window over the bathroom sink. The primary view was over the street, which while not busy, can get loud.

I was also surprised that the jacuzzi/shower was actually in the bedroom (as was the bathroom sink). While we weren't particularly bothered by that, it is a quirk about the room that may be an issue for anybody concerned about privacy.

The house itself is charming, and the cocktail hour was lovely - one carafe each of white and red wine were available, as well as mixed appetizers. The swedish meatballs were particularly good. The sunroom, where the cocktail hour is held, tilted alarmingly downhill, but was comfortable otherwise.

Overall, the Jabberwock was very nice, but we would not stay there again if we went back to Monterey.
