My husband and I stayed in the Wabe room for one night. We knew the room was going to be a little small, but it did not concern us for a short stay. We missed meeting the owners as we arrived at 6:30, but appetizers were available along with assorted beverages, including wine. We did meet another couple staying there who were familiar with the area and suggested a nice seafood restaurant within walking distance. We also walked to Cannery Row and browsed the many shops. It was nice to have a touch of brandy in our room after returning from dinner through the fog. The breakfast was French Toast with a mixed berry topping and a special fruit juice. They were both delicious. I spoke to Dawn after breakfast and she was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. We would chose a bigger room for a longer stay.

We stayed at this B&B for two nights in the Wabe Room (top floor). The innkeepers were fantastic - giving us great recommendations and served us breakfast each AM and were available to chat to throughout the day and during the evening wine&apps. Our room was quite small and the wi-fi didn't work great for us. B&B was very close to Cannery Row and all the Monterey action. Felt the furnishings were a bit dated in the room, but overall was quite cozy.

We have stayed at B & Bs all over the U.S., Canada and Great Britian, this is the best one we have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The owners, John and Dawn, made us feel like we were very special. The room was very comfortable, including a mattress on the bed that was adjustable on each side. What a bonus!!! The breakfasts were truly outstanding! The crepes will melt in your mouth, and the Jabba juice(I won't give away the secret ingredients, you will have to go there to experience it) it the most refreshing concoction we have ever had for breakfast. John and Dawn gave directions to attractions, restaurants and even to the pharmacy when my wife needed meds. They truly cared for us. We would highly, and I mean highly recommend The Jabberwock if you are ever in the Montery/Carmel area!

We booked this B&B for my wife's birthday. She is a huge Alice in Wonderland fan. Dawn and John are fantastic as your host and hostess. Spacious grounds, close to restaurants, the Monterrey Aquarium. The morning breakfasts are scrumptious, love the Jabber juice. We stayed in the Toves room and had a private, restful stay. Just a short drive to Carmel and do ask John and Dawn for recommendations, they are a wealth of knowledge. Will definitely come back!

A great location, clean, informative & comfortable - from the reviews led us to book in for a couple of nights this Aug.
What we also experienced & appreciated was John & Dawn's hosting. From the detailed tour & information we received on arrival. The not so minor 'complimentary comforts'. The opinions of the 'repeat' guests in attendance- some 4/5 time visitors ! Pride of ownership & a true sense of consideration for guests is consistently demonstrated.
It's a bed n breakfast we would go back to again.

This is a great place to stay in Monterey. The Inn itself is very roomy and there are lots of areas to either be with a group or have some quiet time. John was very helpful in recommending places to see and how to get there. The extras such as the wine, hors d'ourves and cookies make for an enjoyable stay. We will certainly recommend it to our friends.

My husband and I were at the Jabberwock recently for 3 nights and loved it. Dawn and John are the consummate B&B hosts, there when you want or need them and inconspicuous when you don’t. The house only has 7 guest rooms but the common areas are spacious and stocked to the gills with comfortable chairs, books, puzzles, snacks and drinks. John gives the introductory tour and then has a wealth of information to share about the Monterey and the surrounding area. His advice was excellent and was personalized to fit what we asked about. Dawn is a warm, friendly hostess and went out of her way to accommodate us. Breakfast was perfect and can be eaten in the dining room with the other guests if you like to make conversation, on the porch if you’d like a little more privacy, or can be taken back to your room if you don’t want to get dressed to come down to eat. There are snacks and drinks all over the place around the clock, as well as a refrigerator filled with free juices, sodas and water. The milk and chocolate chip cookies put out every evening, as well as the 5 o’clock low-key appetizers, made us feel right at home. Our room was perfect for sleeping and the house, while in easy walking distance to Cannery Row, is on a quiet street, so there was nothing to disturb us. We also played our first game of bocci in the back yard. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay in Monterey!
