Owner description: Located at the ocean's edge, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a window to marine life -- for dive masters and non-swimmers alike. It's home to sea otters, penguins, sharks, jellies and thousands of other marine animals and plants. Its mission is to inspire conservation of the oceans.

Constantly updated, clean and educational. Really a must see. You can't go to Monterey and not go. If you live around the area go for the membership. It will encourage you to make another visit. I only wish I could go when there are less crowds. I will have to do some research on when the non peek times are. I would also like to know if there is a time when it's adults only. Some of the children can get annoying. Go...you won't be sorry!

One of the better Aquariums i have been to. Newport Aquarium outside Cincinnati is slightly better but the Jelly-Fish and Sea Horse exhibits were outstanding.

Timing might be everything. Don't go during the holidays for sure or you will be mostly viewing huge crowds of people instead of the sea life. The exhibits are nice and informative. No porpoise, whales etc. A couple of sharks, lots of sea horses and jellyfish. Political activism seemed a bit out of place.

We love everything about this aquarium. The exhibits, layout, conservation efforts, educational pieces. What stands out most in this aquarium is the size and complexity of the exhibits designed to give visitors a view into the depths of the ocean and its complex ecosystem.

Phenomenal aquarium. Go early....definitely go to the Open Ocean for feeding....get in front row and sit down to watch. Seahorse exhibit and Jellies are great. Get hand stamped at 11AM, go out and visit Monterrey, eat then come back later when crowds have decreased.
