A fine hotel as you would expect. But not perfect. Why is this the most expensive hotel on our four weeks trip and the only one charging for Wifi? The hotel is overpriced, but otherwise fine. A perfect location, especially to visit the Bay Aquarium. The rooms are clean and spacious. The view from the hotel to the bay is wonderfull. If only the price was right..

If you don't like being in the thick of things, then don't stay here. I loved it, the hotel is practically next to the Aquarium. The beds were amazingly comfortable, nest-like and the pillows were fabulous. Sheets were silky and I just didn't want to get out of bed! The bathtub could have been bigger, but overall, a nice stay in a great location!

Dear happyholidays818, I am glad you mentioned the running trail along the coast, which is only one of the many attractions surrounding our hotel. We hope to see you again for next year’s birthday!

Renovated 4 years ago this spot has a spa,lap pool, fitness center and very nice restaurant right next to the Aquarium we were able to walk after breakfast to the wonderful aquarium on Cannery row. The staff are very accommodating and will cater to all your needs. We had a king room with fireplace overlooking the long but small lap pool. Very quiet and extremely comfortable with huge bath, robes and sitting area. Would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area which is pretty touristy

Room Tip: We were on the third floor and had to cross a walkway and hada a separate entrance to the street. Th...

This upscale hotel is one of the newest in the Monterey/Carmel area. It is located on Cannery Row next to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and is built partially over the bay. The guest rooms are bright, clean and spacious. The room décor is minimalistic with muted colors and nice touches, including a miniature Japanese sand garden and a live orchid. The marble bathrooms are large and clean with a separate bath and glass-enclosed shower. The bayside windows open to allow guests to listen to the waves at night and take in the smell of the fresh sea air. But, if you leave the windows open through the night, you’ll probably be awakened early in the morning by a cacophony of unwelcomed noise coming from the seagulls that begin stirring at sunrise. The beds are comfortable with feather pillows.

Something to keep in mind is that unless you request a room with a water view, you might not get one. The hotel has two sections, one on each side of Cannery Row. They are connected by a walkway on the second floor. Room rates vary based on the degree to which the water is visible from the room.

The hotel has an ample number of suites, large and small, with gas fireplaces, balconies and views of the bay.

The restaurant has expansive windows that afford diners views of the bay. Breakfast is menu-based—there is no buffet. An outdoor courtyard next to the water provides a nice vantage point to enjoy views of the bay or a libation at night. It is equipped with a gas-fueled fire pit to keep guests warm after sundown.

The staff at the hotel is, without exception, extremely friendly, well-informed and accommodating.

Valet parking is available at the entrance to the hotel for a fee or there is a self-park facility across the street.

Cannery Row is very tourist. If shopping is part of your itinerary, drive the short distance to Carmel-by-the-Sea. It is a lovely place, but everything is expensive.

Fishermen’s Wharf, with its many seafood restaurants, is a 20-minute walk away from the hotel. If you have your heart set on dining at one of the area’s premium restaurants, visit the concierge after registering.

Be aware: Because of its proximity to the aquarium, the hotel is popular with families with children. If it is a romantic weekend you have in mind, try the luxurious Monterey Plaza a few blocks away. Or, better yet, head down the coast to the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights during our CA road trip as it was also my husbands birthday and we didn't want to be checking out and moving on during his birthday, The hotel is lovely with good sized rooms and excellent beds. we had two rooms, a twin double and a king. If costs allow, go for an ocean view.We were on the street side of the hotel, it is connected to main reception by a walkway. Unfortunately, we were next to the multi storey car park and i had to call down 2-3 times to complain about the car horns. The hotel actually own the car park and they reacted immediately and investigated. they put it down to their being busy on our check in day but it did re-occur a couple of times. we were compensated on check out. the gym is well equipped and there is a small pool/roof terrace. the staff were always helpful and the location is perfect. there is a great 4 mile run along the coast and the golf is excellent. The Fish Hopper restaurant is lovely for an evening meal with great views of the ocean. At the back of the hotel and next to a diner is First Awakenings for the best breakfast/brunch ever! My husband enjoyed a spa treatment as a birthday treat but the voucher from the hotel was useless. A nicer touch could have made the difference to his birthday as he is a regular traveler. despite a couple of niggles, we would definitely return and would look to stay in other hotels in the group.

Room Tip: go for ocean view if your budget allows

We stayed last week at the InterContinental The Clement Monterey right in the heart of Cannery Row so it is very easy to park the car for a few days and walk or bike everywhere. The staff were exceptionally friendly despite having a fully-booked hotel in the middle of the week (we arrived on a Monday and every room was booked). The hotel opened just five years ago, so everything is very new (the glowing jellyfish lamp in the hallway in particularly beautiful). We liked the food so much we ate there twice for dinner and once for breakfast (food is a bit pricey, but very good). There are fire pits outside facing the water, and this area feels very private so you forget Cannery Row is just buzzing right outside. Our only complaints is that our room overlooked the valet parking area and the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant, which was noisy at night, and the pool is quite small (we are pool people). The pool has a small maximum capacity of 10-15 people, so this may be an issue for families with kids who like to run or jump around the pool area. There is a kids club region, but this accommodate to littler kids, less so to tweens/teens. The spa service was great; and I would definitely recommend some time at the spa there. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms overlooking the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant and valet parking region. That side...

We stayed over night at Intercontinental,The Clement at Monterey whilst travelling from San Fran to Yosemite. Suberb hotel, possibly the nicest of all 8 hotels we stayed in whilst in the USA. Staff very keen to help. Montery itself is a nice little town and I was able to pop into Pebble beach golf club for a look around.

Enjoyed live music in a bar just a short walk from the hotel, Sly Mcfly.

On my return to UK I noticed an error on my credit card bill. This was sorted without too much drama
