“Amazing hotel”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I recently stayed here on a work trip and loved the property. Location was absolutely spot on and the service here was outstanding. Rooms were quite large and the bathroom area was also excellent. Most things are within walking distance of the Hotel which is a big plus. Breakfast here was excellent (try the crab eggs benedict). Bed were extremely

I work in the Travel Industry and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to my clients.

Hospitality was 5
Room was 5 - great bed, fireplace, soaker tub, etc.
Food (breakfast and late night drink & fondue) was a 5
Gym was a 5
Pool was a 3 - lap pool at best
Jacuzzi was 4
Location was a 5 - next to Bubba Gumps and 1.5 blocks from Aquarium.
View was a 5
Business facilities was a 5
Did I mention the hospitality was a 5 - everyone asked that we were having a good stay. Offered waters for the road. Allowed us to load car with luggage then re-parked and kept car until 3:30pm as we enjoyed lunch and Cannery Row more.
Only complaint was $10 Internet access. Used my hotspot. Stayed at many other places and got basic service free.

Check out the music by outdoor eating area. Breakfast "California Fruit Platter & Greek Yogurt" was amazing. Had to share. The evening fondue is easily for 4 people or 2 teenagers that can eat anything. The bar had a great selection of non-wine items. Loved the 18yr old Scotch. Make sure to enjoy drink in Restaraunt with sunset. Definitely will return for fun.

We got a good deal through travel zoo and the hotel situated at a great location with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was very spacious and clean. The only complaint we had was the bed/pillow was not too comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and their restaurant had good food except the service was a bit too slow.
family friendly hotel and right next to the aquarium.

The staff is sooooo nice and helpful. No exceptions. Front desk and bell services are top notch. Housekeeping does a great job, spotless rooms. Thanks Mercedes! Parking is pricey ($25 per day) but apparently no good alternatives exist. I don't appreciate the overpriced wifi either. Neither of those are under the managers control though. He does everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. You can use the business center computers free. Nadine the concierge is very helpful and well connected. If she makes your reservation at the Chart House (touristy but great view and actually great food) you'll be treated like a VIP. The Clement's Cannery Row location can't be beat. The C Restaurant on the first floor has an omelette to die for, called the Castroville. Artichoke heats and imported Spanish chorizzo. Killer view too (otters galore) and a very gracious wait staff. Prices aren't bad for the high quality you get.

The staff at the Clement are really what make the property shine. They are the BEST IN THE BUSINESS. I've never seen better anywhere in the world. I'll be coming back regularly.

Service - impeccable. These folks took great care with each guest. From the bartender making hot chocolates for the kids, complete with whip cream - to the staff making absolutely sure that my wake up call actually woke me up. Believe me - if you ask the staff to make sure you are awake, they will send someone to your door if you do not answer your wake up call.
Rooms - very nice, comfortable, roomy, comfortable beds. Leave the sliding door open to hear the waves.
Location - convenient to attractions on Cannery Row, comforting to hear the waves crashing
My only knock on the hotel with the valet situation. The parking area in the front of the hotel can get really backed up - and congested. One morning, I had my car but could not leave the parking area due to being pinned in by other cars. On another morning, I had to wait almost 40 mins to get my car. This was due to the staff being overwhelmed with 60 people checking out. Anyway - aside from that, the stay was fabulous. I would recommend the hotel and I would stay again.

Room Tip: try to stay ocean side.

We spent several days at the Clement over the President's day weekend. The service and facilities were outstanding. We had an ADA compliant room with a view and a gas fireplace (which we switched on every chance we had). We were right in the middle of Cannery Row and had easy access to the Aquarium and several great restaurants.. We enjoyed a glass of wine around the gas-fired fire pits every evening amd met some great folks in the process.

On our last morning's breakfast, we had the Clement's take on Eggs Benedict: skip the ham and pile in some lump crabmeat. What an excellent substitution!

The Clement will be our first choice in Monterey given the level of service and comfort we received there.

Decided to take a last minute trip to Monterey/Carmel between Christmas and New Years and am very glad we found a room available at the Intercontinental. Upon arrival, there was confusion about the room we were being checked into as being ready and it was not, so we were escorted back to the front desk, given a $15 voucher for the bar and had a nice cocktail while we waited for the room to be cleaned. Our room was one with a partial ocean view, and was very clean, spacious and nice. With the sliding door open it was wonderful to listen to the sounds of the Pacific Ocean and the fireplace kept the room cozy and warm. Rated a 4 instead of a 5 for 2 reasons... one that I felt the price was a little high, but it is the Pacific Ocean outside of your room... and secondly, We drove my new vehicle to Monterey and had it valet parked it while there. After arriving home we noticed that the rear wheel had gouges in it from what we can only guess came from being valet parked. So valet guys, please be careful!

Room Tip: Rooms on the water side, if you like the sound of the ocean!
