having spent the night in Jenner, we ventured out at 8am in search of breakfast. The first place we saw didn't appeal, next place didn't open until 9. Chez Barry's was the third, proving the old saying "third time's the charm"!! It looked modest, even questionable, and seeing that we were the only customers just increased our doubts. But we were seriously in need if coffee so we figured we'd try a cup and then see further. Well, to our delight, their coffee was outstanding, and they put a whole thermos of it on our table. This was promising. We then got into a conversation with the very friendly waitress, who pointed us to the favorites (1) a house version of eggs florentine with an alternative sauce rather than holllandaise, and (2) their slightly unusual French toast, which has almond extract in the egg batter and a corn flake-dipped outer crunch. We took the plunge and boy were we glad. These delicacies were incredibly tasty! We lingered a long time, savoring every bite of the large servings, skimming the Sunday papers (which they provide) and enjoying the outstanding coffee. We felt it was fate that led us there, and plan to go back again some day. The whole area is fun and interesting, so well worth exploring further.
