It was obvious they cramped as many people in as possible. Mandatory $100 per couple before tax drinks tip. Overpriced, poor service, average food, could have gone to Denny's.

Referred there for Thanksgiving Dinner - way overpriced - $100 + tax +tip+ drinks per couple. Paper table cloths, salt shaker that wouldn't pour even with the top off, lights mysteriously flickering - hardly fine dining - most overpriced meal I've ever had.

Our restaurant strives to produce an exceptional product while recognizing the need for value.  Our four course 2007 Thanksgiving menu represented just that; quality and value. The exceptional decor, views, original artworks, fireplace, multi-award winning wine list and overall charm and ambiance of the dining room offers so much more than a "paper tablecloth" remark.  Yes, our tables are topped with white butcher paper - like many other fine dining establishments, however our dining tables have underlying cloth white tablecloths and crisp white linen napkins. While we realize we cannot be everything to everybody, we feel we offer an exceptional dining experience for our casual Sonoma Wine Country lifestyle.  Thank you for the opportunity to respond.

This Inn was featured in a Bob Hope & Bing Crosby film in the 1940's, and is now modernised, clean and very well run.

It is now raised well above the Russian River and has stunning panoramic views of the river and Redwood Forest. If you book a table on the deck in summer early evening you dine as the sun sets on the river and Redwoods ~ its magical.

The menu is 'California cuisine' ~ try the great Pork Marsala, New Zealand lamb, and the sweets are amazing. A great server, Karen, and a local wine, Hart's Desire Chardonnay, completed a perfect meal

I've not stayed in the rooms but the decks have great views, and it's very quite and peaceful.

Monte Rio is 5 minutes drive from Guerneville, or 25 mins from Jenner. To make it a whole night visit the interestng 'antique cinema' in Monte Rio !
