“Best BAKED Wings Around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

I have only been there for beer n wings. And I have to tell you, the baked wings are soo damn good. I have eaten the "medium" hot wings and that sauce always burns my lips but I cannot put those lil beasts down... I will never learn my lesson!!
ON Wednesdays they have an order of 20 for $10... mmmmmmm
See you there on a Wednesday again!!!

PS....The baked wings take an hour to bake.. Order a couple batches at least an hour ahead!!!

“Good wings and fries!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

There are a limited selection of "wing flavors" when compared to other Wing restaurants, but the "Hot" flavor was tasty and enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We got takeout and the service was quick.

“Great Wings & Cold Beer - What else could you want?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2008

I have been coming to Santoras since 1993. It has gone through a few transformations over the years, getting bigger, adding TVs, etc., but the heart of the place - great wings - has remained its life-blood. There is now a large bar, small sitting area, fireplace, patio and five big flat-screen TVs to catch the game.

Now what makes a “good chicken wing” is a matter of personal preference. The wings here are fried. They are small to tiny by the time they come out of the fryer. They are crispy. And they are split – i.e. you get a mix of both “wings” and “drumettes” separately.

If you like large wings, battered or breaded wings or all drumettes, you will likely be disappointed with Santoras. However, if you are a traditionalist, like me, and you like crispy skin on a wing so tender that you can pull all the meat off in one tug, leaving the bones behind, this is the Promiseland.

Beyond the wings themselves, the sauces offered at Santoras are all good. The “hot” is where I will start – if you want mild, you are on your own. The hot is a great mix of vinegar and pepper. It is not too spicy, but get progressively hotter as you go. The sauce is thin, but coats the wing well and is great with the crispy fried skin and the blue cheese that they readily give you. The “extra hot” adds more black pepper to the equation and is darker and thicker, but I miss the vinegar flavor and usually end up back at the “hot.” Lastly the “nuclear” sauce really is great. The heat is cranked up with a ton of red pepper flakes that coat the wings and tear up your mouth something fierce. I can get through about 12 before shutting down. It is painful when eating and even more so a few hours later. My advice – get the “hot” and a side of the nuclear sauce to control the burn.

The sandwiches and salads aren’t bad if you are bringing a non-wing person with you. The prices (for wings, especially) are pretty high these days, unfortunately. I don’t get there as often as I used to because of this. The pizza is below-average, but cheap on Mondays. Service is slow, except at the bar.

In the end, this is place is a survivor because of pure, traditional fried goodness. Forget all those crappy wing chains that always disappoint with three dozen terrible “gourmet” sauces and large, rubbery wings. Come with a couple of buddies and grab a “bucket” of Santoras’ finest (50 wings, served on a pizza tray) and a couple pitchers of beer (many good draft options). Life will slow down for an evening. Trust me.
