“Great food”

Consistently great food. Go at lunch and get a lunch portion. The dinner portions are huge, but of course you ca get a doggy bag.

“A family favorite”

We LOVE the Kung Pao Scallops - a true testiment of their offerings. Delicious! Every time we eat here we ask ourselves why we ever go to any other Chinese restaurant when PF Changs is the BEST!

Love the food. Wait is too long. And the restaurant is noisy.

“Seriously good!”
Reviewed August 2, 2011

Serious good food. Been all around southern orange county chinese restaurants. Some more expensive, others less, but the critical point which is the food never seem to raise the bar. 3 of us went to PF Chang at the Mission Viejo Mall, or the Shops as it is called these days, whatever the name PF Chang stands like one of the better chinese foods to be had. We tried their Hot and Sour Soup and that was a revelation. Perfect thick, dark broth with just the right amount of spice rendering this soup a very unique taste. Continued with their Salt and Pepper Calamari as an appetizer and even though it was not earth shattering it was a little better than average. Following with Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Shrimp. The Mongolian Beef hands down the best we have had in this area for a very very long time. First I am sure they use Prime Beef versus what most other places use in theirs. The flavor, texture and the right amount of sauce made this one a Standout! The Kung Pao Shrim while for me not as majestic as the Mongolian Beef for the other two it was definitely the best of the night. It certainly grows on you and by the end of the meal I was liking it a lot more. We also tried their Combination Fried Rice, even though not spectacular it was what one would expect from a fried rice. Two decadent desserts (yes, at a chinese, tasty desserts that have nothing to do with china!) a Tiramusi and Tres Leches Lemon Dream and they were very small but very tasty. This place is truly a rock among chinese eateries and I am dying to try their Chilean Bass with an Oolong Tea Sauce (I can only imagine for now) but must save a little "moola" for while it is not very expensive (the total for us was around $58 plus a generous tip to our great server, Bobby, who went out of his way to make it more fun and well attended to) and I am sure the moment will come for a return to this place is almost unavoidable at this stage. If only to have the larger version of the Hot and Sour Soup. The place was packed on a Tuesday and it took us around 25 minutes to get our table but well worth the wait it was determined by all after the night had ended. Truly serious food, hard to beat but I would imagine some of their dishes may not be as good as the ones we had. In our case almost perfection and for that I gladly give them 4.5 Stars but since I saw some lower scores I figure 5 Stars is deserving at this time. Nice place, seriously good food, better than most PF Chang is now the place to beat!
