It was adequate for a one night stay

If you just need a place to crash before an early flight, Aloft isn't a bad choice -- as long as you aren't hoping for room service.

Best thing, for me, is that it is surprisingly quiet for a hotel right next to a busy airport and a highway.

they offer free airport shuttle

Located at the southern tip of the SFO Airport - just off Millbrae Avenue and next to the Westin - this was originally a Starwood hotel, so now is part of the Marriott family. I believe its niche is with millenial travelers, as it tries to evoke a cool, hip vibe with happy hours, dark hallways, and simple amenities. Being used to the Marriott properties, I was not used to my first experience with an Aloft. They do offer free airport shuttle service. Also, they are in walking distance to the New England Lobster Company - a great place for fresh lobster rolls and fish tacos!

Ripped off good and proper !

Knew taxi for airport was about $40, receptionist even agreed. He arranged a cab, and then we saw good old American hospitality as he ripped us off charging over $70 for the 35min trip. What an absolute joke ! How to take the shine off a holiday on day 1. Thanks Marriott.

My stay experience at this hotel

Unfortunately this hotel is going downhill recently, both in management and services. No room services here (confirmed with front desk), no robot, and the staffs here are in short (not enough people to serve customers). So expect everything to be inconvenient, such as check in and any guest requests, etc. The only good thing here is the housekeeping team here. Complete loss of money. Won't return again

Room tip: avoid this hotel at all cost.

Comfortable hotel near the airport

If you're traveling in/out of SFO and need a hotel nearby, this place is great. Well designed and comfortable rooms, great staff. The only downside is the location isn't convenient for anything else, but the airport. There's also sometimes airplane noise, but I personally like that, so it wasn't a bother. I would totally recommend this hotel.
