“Just so-so.”
Reviewed October 1, 2006

Just so-so, in my opinion. The suite does not have a divider, which would have been nice to cut down noise between the bedroom and the living room area. Furnishings were a bit worn, most of all the sofa. As others have pointed out, the spa does not work, and looks like it won't be available for a while as the decking was removed in way that suggested plumbing reparis may be needed. There is no swimming pool on site, and the fitness center is very spartan. No business center either.

Staff was inconsistent. Check-in was very nice, but the night clerk apparently forgot to enter the fact that he gave me a 1 pm checkout because I am a chain member (instead of the 12 noon checkout) which led to problems the next day. By 12:05, the front desk apparently begain to call us about us checking out by 12 noon, only the bathroom telephone was not working and they kept calling and calling (and forcing me to step out of the tub again, again and again. It wa ridiculous. Also, the towels were rather thin and worn. And no apology either from the desk staff who seemed annoyed at the fact that someone got a late checkout. Attitude-wise, she ddn't want to be there at work, and at that point I didn't want to be there either.

The free breakfast was nice. You get your choice of two eggs any style and hash browns. There is also cereal. poor quality danishes, oj, coffee, tea or milk. No fresh fruit, however, which would have been nice. As mentioned, dining spaces were cramped, and parking was cramped too, although free.

The place is convenient, being very close to some nice restaurants (mostly asian) on El Camino Real and the street a block up.

Probably won't go again. Too many other choices in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for a week long vacation. What a great deal! Full hot breakfast, large suite with separate living room, and free high speed internet. The hotel is walking distance to the train station so you don't have to worry about parking in San Francisco. The front desk clerks were polite and helpful.

My girlfriend and I stayed here on our first night of arrival in San Francisco. We only needed somewhere to crash for the night before going back to the airport to pick up our rental car. The rooms were clean, quiet and spacious and the breakfast was the best we had at any of the hotels we stayed in California. They have a short order cook preparing eggs and hash browns for you while you sit, it was superb! One other good thing is the free shuttle bus to and from the airport which is extremely punctual and takes only 5 minutes ($2 tip to the driver is optional). We liked it so much that we decided to stay there again on the night before we flew home. Totally satisfied. Excellet value for money.

We started our vacation at the Hotel Del Sol in San francisco but switched to this hotel after picking up our rental car. The room was spacious and quiet considering it's on a main highway. Breakfast was plentiful but the dining room is small. The location is great. You are near the BART station and one block from a nice downtown area. Don't miss the great Irish pub across the street. It was easy to get back to the city and the outlying areas from here. Parking was free but tight.

I selected this hotel simply because it offered an affordable price and it was very close to the airport. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised by the suite, which was large. The bathroom light didn't work which was replaced very quickly by maintenance. The front desk clerk (Chris) was very helpful in recommending places to eat in the area. It was also nice having an omlette cooked to order in the morning, at no charge.

However, the internet access was lousy. It didn't work in our room at all, and after walking through the hotel with my laptop, I determined that it works very well in the middle of the hotel (regardless of floor) but if you're in either one of the two wings, forget it. Also, the pool/spa was closed. From other reviews it appears to have been closed for at least one month by now.

We stayed for one night only and left early, so we didn't experience any housekeeping problems but this does not mean they don't exist.

Overall I give this hotel a thumbs-up, but would recommend that you request a 2nd floor room (or above) and if you want wifi internet, request a room toward the center of the hotel, away from the two wings.

  • Liked — comfortable room, helpful front desk, free airport shuttle
  • Disliked — low quality internet access

This hotel is definitely okay for the price. It's located near the airport and highway so it's very easy to get in/out of San Fran. Hotel staff were friendly. Prices include a continental breakfast of (eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, and muffins). Bed wasn't the most comfortable but I was able to deal with it. Room includes a microwave and fridge as well. I would stay here again.

We just spent three days in the Quality Suites Hotel. For some strange reason, the hotel cannot be found on the Choicehotels website, even though it is part of that hotel chain. Our room was of average size for being a suite. One good point about the hotel was the cook-to-order breakfast. They offered a good variety and the food was good. Other than that, our experience was not very pleasant. The spa was broken, and we didn't see anyone work on it while we were there. They advertise free wifi, but it did not work very well. I complained to the front desk and they gave me the number of the help desk. When I called the help desk, they only gave me excuses and didn't do anything to solve the problem. The help desk was advertised to be available 24 hours a day, but when I tried to call later no one was there. The biggest problem I had was with housekeeping. One day they came by the room to see when they could come in the room. I told them we would be leaving in one hour and they could come back then. They were agreeable to that. When we returned 4 yours later tired and ready to take a nap, they had not been in our room yet. When I complained at the front desk, the housekeeper finally showed up. The next day, the housekeeper came into our room without knocking on the door. That was totally unacceptable!! When I told the front desk while checking out about the problems I had, the gal did not seem too interested. We had a reservation at the same hotel the following week. Needless to say, I cancelled it.....
