Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort

Place is nice in the woods. A little far from Yosemite park, but OK.
We came off season, in January. We book a room with shared bathroom and it was more a "camping bathroom": it was not really inside the building. you have to get outside, and yes, there is a roof but no insolation or heating! I guess in summer it's ok, but in winter... we didn't want to shower!
Cleanliness can be improved. Bed was ok but pillows were yellowish and pillow cases too... towels didn't seem very clean as well...

Myself and friend had a lovely stay at Bug resort. We booked last minute.
We were in a tent cabin which was clean unfortunately we didnt have air conditioning (I think this was available) so it was very warm. It was located in a beautiful place we drove into the park the next day which wasnt to far. It had a lovely atmosphere, Staff were friendly and helpful. The resturant was fast and efficient.
Would stay here again!
p.s yosemite is an amazing place - not to be missed!

we stayed there at the Barn Studion, what is a little bit different from all other experiences, I must say. It is an absolutely isolated house in forest, pretty close to the road, far from the front desk and other facilties. Twas rainly all days and it added an extra intimity in our staying. Elks were looking into our window, a woodpecker was working on our wall... all was really close to natute. The only thing I would improve was the bbq facilities in the studio and the towels quality.

Room Tip: The Barn studia is a very separate from the main lodge, the best option in my opinion

We stayed in a private double room that was eccentrically decorated but clean and well presented. We arrived late after a day in the valley and the kitchen has stopped serving. However they still had some veggie chilli left and served us which we were really grateful for - such friendly staff! The packed lunches to take into the park are great too. Shame we didn't stay longer, a lovely place to stay.

I came here with my adult daughter August 2011. The spa package was great, pampered and treated very well. The restaurant was truly the best food ever. The Chef came out to talk to us about the menu. They grow vegetables right there. We stayed in the studio barn cabin. Like the name says it's rustic and cozy. We're going up again Dec 28th , this time we're staying for 3 days. We love this place

Room Tip: they let us bring our own bottle of wine to dinner

My partner and I stayed here last September. The Bug was great, excellent location about 30 minute drive outside of Yosemite Valley (there is a bus daily) We enjoyed the excellent spa facilities on our first day, and a hearty meal in the restaurant in the evening. The atmosphere is great, we snuggled up on the sofa next to a log fire and played games in the evenings. Everyone was very friendly both staff and other travellers. We stayed in a small cabin of our own with a heater (which is needed as it is quite cold in September) it was a short walk to the showers and communal kitchen, I would recommend bringing a torch for use in the evenings. The kitchen facilities are excellent, plenty of pots and pans to cook with, there is not a shop on site so you will need to buy food from town in the day. Highly recommend the Bug and we hope to return again some day.

While driving through Yosemite and missing our checkin at another lodge, we called Bug Lodge and booked a stay. It was like being in Europe and staying in a Hostel. It brought back a lot of fond memories of traveling through the Europe after college. Next time, I'll just make my reservation here.

The June Bug Cafe focuses on sustainable, local and fresh, in a daily changing menu with excellent vegan and vegetarian options as well as standard meats and seafood. The Cafe is considered to be one of the five best in the Yosemite Region. The Yosemite Health Spa is social and busy with herbal soaks, H2O2 Hot Tub and a hot rocks sauna. We have yoga on weekends. The private rooms are decorated well but all are different in style. Our family cabins and dorms are very popular. We align with the Hostelling International brand for our backpacker dorms.
