While looking for a lunch stop with easy access along Hwy 99, I came across an article on another website for this place. (google for pictures) We stopped there yesterday, and it was wonderful. The homemade root beer was the best. Haven't tasted anything like that in a long time. And the seasoned fries were hot and crisp on the outside. Really good. My BLT was perfect and the cheeseburger also very good. Very few independent drive-in restaurants left, and this felt like we were back in a bygone era. One can eat in the car or sit outside at tables or stools along a stone wall in an area appropriately covered for summer sun. A perfect small town meal in central California! I could almost imagine when Hwy 99 actually went through these towns instead of bypassing them. Tiny, little 60s era bathroom, but perfectly clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again...and will.
