“Take a hike!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

Went to the refuge, was hoping to have a picnic somewhere but there was no place to set (tables, BBQ pits etc. ) i thought it was a great chance to go off road and watch some birds, but my little ones were fussing in the car and did not care much for it...however, if you have a dog, like to hike and you enjoy nature...then you will have yourself a great day...bring your zoom lenses and binoculars for some great clicks.

“Love to go here several times during the winter”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

My husband and I love to go here during the winter months as that is when most of the birds come here to stay the winter. We were in Alaska and saw the sandhill cranes gathering to head to Los Banos for the winter. When we came home, we saw them arrive. They make quite a noise. We have seen bald eagle, tundra swans, 20 or more varieties of ducks, snow geese, etc. Always lovve to spend an day here driving slowly around the refuge identifying various birds. Also see large owls nestled in the trees. Just a fun thing to do. I highly recommend this. We always take guests and they love it too, even iff they are not birders.

“The Best Time To Visit Is In Winter”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Large numbers of snow geese and various other birds congregate here. In the other season, there still are lots of birds, but winter is incredible.

“In to the woods.....”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Liked it fine.Visited there lots of times.Go there just to visit this uric place. Like to stay there for a few days before mooving on to a different location.
These woods are allmost spooky. The sun can't penetate these tight woods too well. Shady, even on otherwise hot days of summer. Take a jacket with you on your hikes.-
