Very "California". I'd recommend taking friends from out of state there. Lots to see, and often something special going on. Lovely grounds and buildings.

Go to Sunset Magazine bldg on south side of Willow. Must go thru big wood doors. Kids loved the cactus garden "jungle." Test garden was not planted at the time.

If you are going to be in the area in May, check their schedule and try to make it to their open house. It has been an explosion of sound, color, smells and food the last few times we've gone. Some demonstration booths but, the food booths are our favorite (go figure).

Had the opportunity to view and visit the Sunset gardens and it was beautiful. ONly wished there had been more in bloom but since it was January how can I be surprised. The edible gardens in the back gave me lots of ideas for my own spring and summer vegetable garden and enjoyed every minute of it. Anxioius to return later in the year when hopefully more would be in bloom but even so the primroses, ornamental purrple and white kales and the camellias were lovely. The young man at the guest could not have been nicer or more helpful. A real plasure to be around. This is a defintie must see adn its free!
