A lovely setting. We could not afford the rooms with a direct ocean view, but there was public seating that gave nearly the same views. Just a short walk into Mendocino. Room was large, with a small balcony, and well above-average room decor. Nice garden and grounds. We had serious problems contacting them. The phone was not always answered even during normal business hours; e-mails were not always returned. To be fair, it was the end of the season. Restaurant was closed even in early October, finding breakfast in the village was a problem. Price paid $95 plus tax.

As always, our stay was a delight! Amanda & Sabryyah went out of thier way to make sure our first Anniversay was perfect! (We were married in Mendocino & had our reception at Hill House last year!) We stayed in the Bette Davis Suite which overlooked the grounds & ocean...we will definately be back next year, if not sooner! And make sure at breakfast you try the Indiana biscuits-YUMMY!

I recently Visited Mendocino for a small vacation with some friends. Being from Ohio I enjoyed the Great Surroundings of the Inn. I was treated with GREAT respect by the Employees and they very much made the stay enjoyable. We were greeted by a very respectable and very pleasant Levi at the front desk. He made sure that everything was to our liking and made sure we were informed on the many activities available to us. My stay was very much enjoyable and I plan on returning to stay with them very soon!

We've stayed in Mendocino before but this is the first time we have stayed in a hotel. The decision was a good one as we totally underestimated the time it would take us to arrive here from oregon and didn't get in until 11pm. This wasn't a problem for this hotel but a B&B might have been a different story.

The hotel is beautiful with lots of antique furniture throughout public areas and rooms which were massive. The hotel is located at the top of one of the main streets, no doubt within walking distance but if I recollect correctly the path runs out one block short of the hotel so it might be a walk in the dark. Perhaps this was why there was a torch in the room.

We had a fantastic breakfast in the hotel which enjoys nice views over the sea in the distance, perched as it is on a slight elevation.

We have just returned from a visit to Mendocino where we stayed at Hill House Inn. My wife and I visit the Mendocino area often and Hill House is our favorite place to stay. Even after many stays at Hill House we continue to be delighted by the charming rooms, the beautiful grounds and the tranquility. The staff is friendly. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel where you can eat while enjoying a headlands and ocean view, or you can walk to other restaurants in town. The hotel is located perfectly for us, just a short walk outside the main part of town, but still just far enough away that you can sit on your porch and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the North Coast. I always return home from Hill House relaxed and looking forward to the next visit. It is difficult to explain the feeling you get there. The Inn is like a cross between a bed and breakfast and a beautiful country inn. I get just the right combination of being pampered and left alone. For me, staying at Hill House is always my first choice of Hotels in Mendocino.
