We have stayed here many times and in different rooms over the past 30 years. Good location right in the center of town, within walking distance to the Headlands. Very good breakfast, outstanding dinners and wine selections. The accommodations vary quite a bit, some rooms have wood fireplaces, some gas, other have franklin stoves, some have jet tubs, others just showers. Look at their website to pick and choose. Rooms are smaller than they appear in the website pictures though.

Room Tip: Check their website, but upstairs rooms are quieter than downstairs (creaky floors overhead).

Great 3 day trip to the Spa Suite in the other building. Felt like I rented out a day spa w/ the private sauna and hot tub. Food was great at the restuaraunt especially the New York strip.

Pricey but awesome.

Room Tip: Spa Suite- #33

Loved everything about this hotel. We were here for a wedding and stayed in the main house, and everything was perfect (and the wedding was beautiful). The staff was helpful and accommodating, the food was A-MAZING (especially breakfast!), the bar was great, the room was large and clean, and they had all-you-can-use L'Occitane products in the bathroom! What more can you want? NOTHING! Loved it.

We stayed at MacCallum House Inn Sept 2012 and the actual room was the HoneyMoon suite #32 which is just up the road from the main house. Our room was spectacular, well light, great large bed, couch, love seat, deck with a view, large bathroom with a lovely large spa tub and walk-in closet. The Main house is very old but it great condition, the grounds around the house are beautiful with all kinds of flowers. We dinned in the main house which had a good selection of food and the service was great. We also had breakfast in the main house in the morning, it was like a home cooked breakfast but you need to get there somewhat early since it is very popular. They have a great web site and several pictures for a very good representation of what it looks like. The front desk was very friendly and was very willing to give us suggestions/maps on locations where we could hike. I would highly recommend staying there as well as dinning.

Room Tip: Room 32 is great!

We drove up the coast after 2 nights in San Francisco without a reservation - planning to see how far we got. The coast North of San Francisco is beautiful - if we do another California trip we would spend more time North than South as its less developed and the road is closer to the coast.

We passed a good number of nice looking inns but landed at Maccallum. The inn is a pretty traditional building in a beautiful town. We looked at a few rooms and chose a quaint room furnished with antiques in the main building from which we could see the sea. Dinner was great - one of the best on our 15 night trip. Breakfast next morning was also good.

A lovely hotel to which I would happily return.

Visited here with my sister for a two night stay. I had a groupon or travel zoo coupon and we got a great deal. Loved the restaurant and the bar, breakfast and dinner were amazing. We stayed in 2 different out cottages. The first night I loved our cozy room, the second night we had a larger room with a fireplace but I did not think the room as near as nice as the cottage we had stayed in the night before. I would like to stay in the main house if I had it to do over again. Mendocino is such a quaint little town by the sea and I had wanted for a long time to visit there. The Inn was in a very convenient location and you could walk to everything. Shop Keepers in town where very friendly and one sales person showed me how to tie my scarf in a cool way - I do that all the time now. I would highly recommend the Inn for couples and girlfriend getaways.

Room Tip: I would suggest getting a room in the main inn.
