We took Sea Rock Inn's January special of third night 50% off and, again, loved it. It was warm and sunny the three days we were in Mendocino. It rained on the morning we left. We love the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the nearby cliffs in any weather, though.

We stayed in room 17, our favorite. As I said before, from this room we can see the ocean and we can hear the waves crashing on the cliffs. We love sitting in the two red leather chairs with the red blanket over our knees, looking out the window at the ocean.

On the poster bed is a heavy comforter, which is good on cold nights. My sweetie and I find it too warm, so we throw it off and leave the lighter blanket on the bed. Just cozy enough.

My sweetie and I love the breakfast provided. Choice of two juices, coffee, and tea to drink; hard boiled eggs, a quiche, cereal, fresh fruit, scones, muffins, and croissants, other bread are available and a toaster is on each table. Huge picture windows provide a beautiful view of the ocean and a small park-like sitting area across the street. Even the fog, when it's there, is beautiful.

Susie checked us in and Linda was there the rest of the time. They are so nice, informative, and helpful. Susie quickly and easily made reservations for us at Cafe Beaujolais in Mendocino when we arrived and we had some good conversations with Linda. They made feel welcome and at home.

There was a personal note, a small bottle of wine, two glasses waiting in our room when we arrived, and two small chocolates. A coffee maker with everything necessary for coffee and tea sat on another table. Free DVD's are available and a TV is mounted on the wall in front of the bed. There's no phone or wireless available in the room, so no interruptions.

My sweetie and I love visiting Sea Rock Inn. It's so restful. I recommend you stay there when you visit Mendocino.

Room Tip: We've only stayed in Room 17. It's upstairs, private, and quiet. We particularly love the vi...

It is so nice to hear from old friends! Thank you for your glowing comments. "Your" cottage #17 is the favorite of many as it has that gorgeous ocean view and comfy sitting area to enjoy it. It is always our pleasure to chat with you about your days plans or dining selections. Don't forget to reserve well ahead for your choice of accommodation the next time you visit. :)

We stayed for one night which was way too short! We stayed in cottage number 1. It has a wide ocean view and a very comfortable bed right in front of the window. The fireplace gets the room warm and cozy. I took a sauna which left me very relaxed. Can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Try your best for an ocean view room. The views are spectacular!

Our cottage #1 is very popular just because it does have that amazing ocean view from the bed! I'm so glad you took advantage of the sauna. Isn't it a great way to start off your evening of relaxation!

Our stay at the Sea Rock was wonderful! We went for our 10th anniversary, and they really made us feel special. The view from the inn is spectacular, and the owners and staff were very friendly. Our room was cozy; perfect for an anniversary getaway. We will definitely plan to go back!

Great stay, no complaints whatsoever. We stayed in cottage #5 and had an excellent view of the Pacific ocean. There is also an area designated for Sea Rock Inn guests to have an outdoor picnic or just sit down and relax on the benches. We will be back!

Glad you liked cottage #5! It is one of my favorites also! The view from this accommodation is great. The benches across the street are so inviting for picnics as you say---we look forward to seeing you there on your return visit!

We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend 2012. It was our first trip to Mendocino; we moved to the Bay Area 1 1/2 years ago. We've been to Napa and Sonoma several times, but have never ventured this far north. We are so glad we did! It felt like we were a million miles away from home and in another universe. Where else can you hike into a canyon and see a stunning waterfall (Fern Canyon), explore a beach where nature took trash and turned it into treasure (Glass Beach), and end the day with a relaxing massage, a cozy fire, a complimentary split of local wine, a stunning sunset from your own bay window (all at the Sea Rock), and a gourmet locally sourced meal (Cafe Beaujolais)?

After sleeping and dreaming for 10 (yes, 10!) hours, you can get up, tuck into a hearty, fresh, healthy breakfast (warm and tasty quiches, ripe fruit, organic yogurt, etc.) and walk right out your front door to explore the craggy, wild coast (the Headlands), window shop in a historic town (Mendocino), and then freshen up and drive a short way through the majestically towering Redwood forest to spend a leisurely day wandering from winery to winery, tasting the best this rich soil yields (Pinto Noirs! Malbecs!) and soaking in the beauty of the landscape, while experiencing incredible hospitality and none of the crowds of the grapelands further south (a special shout out to Toulose, Navarro and Roederer!). After you nap/rest in the late afternoon by the cozy fire in your cabin, to the sights and sounds of crashing waves just outside, you can drive a short distance to indulge in more comforting, yet creative, local, scrumptious fare (Mendo Bistro in Ft. Bragg), including delicate roasted quail and house made sodas (strawberry chile!). The evening winds down with a delicious nightcap at McCallum House bar back in Mendocino, and more snuggling in front of the fire before you drift off and slumber peacefully for another 10 hours....

The Sea Rock staff is lovely, welcoming and amazingly accommodating. The cabins are pristine and comfortable, with all the amenities (though we watched the waves and the fire more than the flat screen TV). The location cannot be beat for exploring the entire area. We will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view - well worth the extra price if you like to meditate by watching the wave...

Mendocino and the surrounding area does have something for everyone. It sounds like you enjoyed the best of wineries, restaurants and hikes. And of course the falling asleep listening to the ocean waves is a great way to end the day! Thank you for your kudos to both Mendocino and the Sea Rock Inn!

The property is beautiful, and very relaxed and comfortable. We were very impressed as this was our very first visit. Each cottage had a view, and having coffee in the room was an added plus !
