“Best experience of my life!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

I absolutely loved our room . I actually miss it so much! The energy was amazing and most of all I have never met this loving , caring and one of a kind hotel staff in my life. The views of the mountains were spectacular from our windows of our room. Every room has it's own charm and character which was really lovely. The calmness and serenity that I was experiencing in the town and at the Inn was unbelievable. I miss our breakfast every day at the cafe down stairs . Great service and great food. Can't wait to go back :)

The Inn is located in a charming town that was very peaceful and quite when we were there (Jun 26, 2013). We could see Mount Shasta from our window. The service was great and there was a cafe in the building that served great vegetarian breakfast. We will definitely visit this Inn again next year, on our way to Ashland.

Room Tip: The room facing Mount Shasta is perfect!

We stayed in the cozy Friday George room- It is so well done that I want to reproduce the room in my own home. Charming town. We ate Dinner down the street at the McCloud Hotel -Excellent Meal. Breakfast in the restaurant right next to the Mercantile was enormous --no exaggeration, 2 adults can split 1 plate and still have left overs. We visited from Florida but if I ever venture back that way we will definitely stay at the McCloud Mercantile. The owners are so friendly and down to earth and have done an excellent job bringing the Mercantile back to life. Be sure to visit the Falls while you are there it is worth the hike to go from lower to middle to upper.

Room Tip: Friday George - cozy and what an excellent view from your bed. Very unique claw foot tub/shower in a...

This was our second time staying at the McCloud Mercantile, and I think it is becoming a favorite stopping off point in our frequest travels between Oregon and California. Each room is unique in decor and design. All amenities are of the highest quality. The room comes with a dining credit towards breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, which is always plentiful and delicious. Our interactions with the owners, both in person, by email, and on the phone have been helpful and friendly. Thanks for another great stay! We'll be back!

The bed was super comfortable with soft linens, the decor was fun and the attention to detail was grand. We got a $20 certificate to a local diner for a breakfast to die for that came with the room. It was a great deal and we hope to return soon.

McCloud is very quiet and so is this B&B. We were there on a Tuesday night in mid June and most stores were not open until the weekend. We stayed in the Arts and Crafts room. Room is very large with a king bed, small round breakfast type table and two chairs, a separate area with a twin bed and tv. Best of all was the very nicely updated bathroom - double sinks, clawfoot tub and separate shower. The lighting in the room and in the common area was very poor - I guess this is in keeping with the period (late 1800's) but I found it depressing and hard to navigate. No hair dryer was provided so bring your own if you need one. The room comes with breakfast at the coffee shop next door and the food and service there were great.

We were very excited about making reservations at McCloud's Mercantile Hotel after reading about it and viewing the photos. However, our room (Gigi's Attic) was a disappointment. The room was uncomfortable with no chairs to relax in, no amenities, small window that looked down at the concrete. The Hotel's 'room' for guests to relax is dark and kind of creepy. We left before the breakfast coupon was valid because we were so uncomfortable.

Room Tip: If staying here, do not reserve Gigi's Attic room.
