Nick's cove is a great place for dinner, a very special occassion kind of place. We did not stay in the lodging, but that looked great too. The food was very good and it was worth the trip!

This was one of our stops on the way up the coast in search of the perfect BBQ oyster. This is a great little location, with a view of Tamales Bay (which we kayaked prior to our stop) and Hogs Island. They have a full bar and an open kitchen. Loved the set up. We only had Laginitas on tap with some BBQ oysters (turned out they were from Washington) and after having better ones up the road at our previous stop these ones were disappointing. The rest of their menu looked good though and the staff was plentiful and very friendly. We will go back again and try something different another time (or perhaps if they have local oysters, those again). All in all, it was a great stop in our day!

This is a really cool stop. Nice scenery on the water, cool as hell bar - has micro brewery beers & a really good place to eat.
Staff is friendly & Nicks Cove is Biker friendly.
Try the BBQ oysters - nice !!

As an aside, there are cabins to rent & would make a really cool relaxing place to spend a weekend. Take a walk out on the wharf to the bait shop with boat parking.

This restaurant is not in Bodega Bay. It is about 45 minutes south between Marshall and Tomales. I have eaten there a number of times but not in the very recent past. We have always had excellent and fresh seafood, great cocktails and a strong but somewhat expensive wine selection. What really makes Nick's exceptional is the location right on the water. It is also a very rustic-chic, warm room. There is a glassed in porch and a classic bar, adding to the feeling of an old fisherman's hangout. Lots of local food, particularly shellfish.

Ate here with my hubby on a recent trip to Point Reyes National Seashore. We ate the oysters, both raw and BBQ'd, both delicious. But decided that instead of two main courses, we'd share a few small plates. The roasted cauliflower salad with mustard vinaigrette was delightful. But the crab mac and cheese, delish! The wines by the glass are good, I drank a solid Sonoma Zin and the waiter was knowledgeable about their selection. I wasn't really inspired with their entree's, but that is a personal choice as we love small plates and just couldn't get beyond that. What I will say is that this place isn't cheap. But as with many places on the water, you're paying for the view. All in all, it was a delightful dinner.
