1850 recently opened and it's got a leg up on other first-time establishments: it's operating with the advisory resources of one of Mariposa's finest restaurateurs: Mirriam Wackerman Platto, mother of 1850 co-owner Jake Wackerman, who - with his partner Hanna Dutra - are off to a flying start. Have visited twice (lunch) so far and both occasions found service to be excellent, well-timed and attentive. The generously-sized hamburger was cooked perfectly to order (medium-rare) and accompanying fries were just right - as well as slightly distinctly unique...in the best possible way. We're looking forward to returning for dinner as well as the weekend brunch. In this glorious county (the home of Yosemite, by the way) a new restaurant is always welcome; when the initial operations are this good right off the bat, one salivates at the prospect of the future to come!
