We stayed in Mariposa for just two nights but managed to eat at the Sugar Pine Cafe three times !
It is a real diner, not a "just for the tourist" type. Watching Debbie & Vicki serving a full house at breakfast time is an education in how it should be done. No matter how busy it gets they make everyone feel very welcome greeting & serving everyone with a smile & ensuring your coffee cup is never empty.
The food is of course just as important. The menu is varied & more than reasonable in price. We enjoyed everything we had from the evening meal to the fabulous breakfast.
All the cakes & pastries are baked on the premises & are delicious (do not leave town without trying the Banana cream pie).

The menu is simple, but so good. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Noisy. The best milk shakes and malts ever. Beer and wine. Root beer flats are great. The blue cheese burger pretty good and the chili with corn bread muffin is wonderful. Breakfast is really good and there is an option of cheesy grits.

Stopped on for breakfast on the way to Yosemite. Sat at counter and got to watch the cook, cook. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Cheese grits were yummy, eggs and bacon perfectly prepared. In house baked wheat bread toast delightful. We shall return!!!

I ordered French toast and bacon because they were all out of grits. The bacon was tasty and the French toast was good but nothing special. My husband ordered an omelette and really enjoyed it. The coffee is from Pete's and tasted good. There is also wifi there but it didn't work on our devices well.

We both ordered hamburgers, they were pretty darn good! The French fries were good as well. The interior was a little rough bit the food made up for the torn seats.
