“Not really 3 stars”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

We weren't expecting too upscale a property, but this is really a Travelodge with some "cool" furnishings to give it a trendy L.A feel. The building itself could have easily been a Travelodge in the past. It's a basic stucco property on a busy street and the rooms look a little tired.

I will say that the rooms have a good layout with the separate living area and two TVs. The bathroom has a sink that's apart from the shower/toilet which works well for a couple or small family.

The breakfast offerings are decent but as mentioned in other reviews the breakfast dining room is very small and was filled both mornings we used it.

The location is reasonably close to Venice Beach but it's a pretty long walk.

I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again unless price is more appealing than what we paid for our stay.

Room Tip: We chose a room that's away from the main street to help reduce the noise issues.

We liked this hotel so much that we extended our stay here. The rooms are really clean, spacious cozy and comfortable! Great value for money! Staff were very friendly. Parking is free. Nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi area which we used in the evenings. Just a short drive from Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who would like to explore this part of LA.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the opposite side from the main road as they are quieter.

We pulled up to the Inn at Marina del Rey and were less than impressed by its "curb appeal." Well, we were wrong and happy about it. The room was spacious and most comfortable. The setting inside was rather charming, nicely presented and well maintained. The front desk personnel were very accommodating. The location is central to many LA area attractions, and we would book the motel again.

Good spacious bedrooms with large comfortable beds, but we were put in a room on the second floor on the main road. Even though there was secondary glazing the road noise was too bad for a good night's sleep, so we asked to be moved to a quieter room. The receptionist gave us a much quieter room and we did wonder why we weren't given this in the first place. Maybe it was because we were only staying one night? Before we changed rooms I drew the curtains and a rubber toe separator (for painting toenails) was on the carpet, which disgusted us as it indicated that the carpet hadn't been properly vacuumed. Breakfast room totally inadequate - there was no table for us at first. The food was okay but not a great variety. On-site parking was excellent with direct lift to floors above. Location good as close to Venice Beach.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room at the back even though the views are poor, but they are quiet.

Stayed here for one night traveling up the Pacific coast. We flew in from LAX and stayed here the first night . Very convenient location for the airport (about 20 minutes away), although be careful as some satnav's see the address as being about 15 miles away - search for the hotel and you'll be fine.

We arrived at about 7pm that night - parking in the hotel was fine and there were many spaces, the staff were very welcoming and suggested some great places to eat locally. Rooms were very clean and spacious, and the wifi worked well. Breakfast was good (waffle iron, fruit, eggs, bagels etc), although the eating area is a little basic/functional.

Although we didn't have time, there was a lovely pool area with a hot tub/jacuzzi which despite the rather chilly December weather was being used by some guests.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a first night in LA, or for a few nights in the Venice Beach area.

In some ways, this hotel was like a trip back in time. Everything was up-to-date, but the relaxed friendliness of the staff and the sincere, consistent willingness to be of service -- that's something that's really hard to come by, these days, in my experience.

I was staying at the Inn on a compressed time schedule, with back-to-back business meetings and a lot of other balls in the air, so to speak. The staff was accommodating, and when I had problems, they were quick to fix them, or help me fix them. I needed to have my room cleaned for a business meeting (it was a suite) in a short time-frame; no problem. I couldn't get the computer to work in the business center -- the front desk guy gave me a solution in less than a minute.

Things like that.

On the hotel side of things -- the hot breakfast was good; free parking (in LA, near the beach) was very nice; the bed was comfortable; there was a free bathrobe to use (always a nice touch); and, lo and behold, the wifi worked (and was faster than my home wifi).

Just overall great experience. Can't think of anything to complain about. And these days, that's a big "plus" in and of itself!

I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel at a convenient place with helpful front desk! Close to the beach, less than 1 mile, close to the highways and easy to reach attractions nearby. We went with another couple and the days at Inn At Marina Del Rey were great! Nice spacious rooms/suites, living room and two 32’ TVs in each room, very nice pool area with a fireplace at night made our days great!

Room Tip: Most of the rooms face side streets and this is the key for a silent sleep.
