The hotel and area were very beautiful. The room and bathroom were clean and very comfortable. The food was enjoyable and I loved the hummas and carrot/ginger soup. Would stay here again. Thanks.

We are thrilled that we happened upon the Jamaica Bay Inn, we are finished shopping for a place to stay while in California. Our daughter and I just came back from our new favourite hotel and I look forward to bringing my hubby in October. Great beach at hotel then a lovely walk to Venice Beach then nice walk to Santa Monica Pier. Food at the Vu is reasonably priced and great value, salads are amazing. Most staff when passing will say have a nice day or something very pleasant, cleaning staff not so much. Rooms are fine, clean and roomy,we were overlooking city street which was fine for us,yes keep the a/c or fan on at all times We were in Naples Florida in February paid twice $$$$'s for a far lesser hotel...see you again Jamaica Bay Inn...Debbie/Stefanie Hohenadel

Great service from the moment our limo pulled up outside. Lovely room, with a balcony. Very clean. Breakfast a bit pricey for us, from UK, but seems to be the norm. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Facing the marina is great.

We recently stayed here to attend a wedding and the hotel was more than I expected. For a boutique hotel, location, very nice rooms, lovely outdoor area that looks out onto a small beach - all was wonderful. The only complaint we had was the attitude of some of the servers in the restaurant at times was not great (one girl snatched the bill out of my hand when I said that it was incorrect) and the service was very slow. A long time between being seated, getting a drink, ordering food and someone coming back for refills was a long time. That's the only area we think needs improvement at the hotel. Otherwise, wonderful service at the front desk, housekeeping, and room. We especially loved the floor tile in the room and plan to have that in our bathroom!

Convenient to water sports, wonderful walking area, close to other hotels if you are meeting up with friends. Five minute drive to Venice Beach and an easy 10-15 minute drive from LAX. Great place to stay for family get togethers or if traveling by yourself in this area - I felt very safe there. And if you just want to get away for the weekend, this is the perfect place.

Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building facing the water. The restaurant, front desk, outdoor seating area that you see on the main page are all in the new building. Our room was #352 and very nice with a balcony.

booked 5 nights on business, was looking for an alternate than LAX hotels.

Location is great - on arrival I went for a long walk up to Venice Beach (approx 15-20 minutes) and there's a small mandmade bay right outside the hotel. There's a strip mall with Ralphs and some shops about a 5 minute drive, and plenty of eating options very nearby also.

Room was modern and very clean, didn't spring for the marina view so overlooked the car park and main road, was on the 2nd floor so didn't bother me that much. There is plenty of space in the room, much better than The Westin at LAX. There is a LCD but no pay-per-movie option, just able programming. The fridge is empty so great for buying your own wine/beer if you wish. The drawback with the fridge is the heat it puts out in the cabinet - it's like an overn. I made the mistake of switching off the A/C at night at aorund 2am the room became an inferno.

The A/C are individual units as opposed to ducted, so they are quite loud especially when they are chiing the air. Some people may find it difficult to sleep with it on, and suffer the heat, I had ear-plugs so again didn't bother me too much.

Now the one criticism I have is the shower. When you see the size of it, and the magnificent shower head you think you are in for a treat. Afraid not, the pressure is so low you get a thin jet of water. It's even worse then the so-called "Heavenly Shower" at the Westin which resembles a slow dripping tap on a good day.

Room service is remarkably good value and great quality - soup $8, burger $15, salad $13 - and very quick delivery from the restaurant.
