Booked this hotel as it has a pool and it's close to the beaches. We were still supprised to find such a nice, big and clean room. Good value for money (except overpriced room service).

Overall this hotel is nice enough. Room was spacious, clean and in good order.
Had a little fridge in the room.
Bathroom shower nice n large with decent pressure. Missing in the bathroom was a magnifier make up mirror. For this price range I expect one. They do have a hair drier.

I would not pay any more an $180 a night to stay here. It's not in the $200 + class

Note that if, like me you come off an overnight flight, check in early & they have no rooms, there is no where to shower apart from an outside pool shower. U need a swimsuit on unless u don't mind being naked in public. Since it was overcast & cold I opted to change clothes in the bathrooms & wash my hair in the sink, using paper towels to dry it off a bit before venturing to Vu for ,probably, the worst coffee I ever had.

On a more positive note, in general the food was ok at the Vu. Service was reasonable since it was Dead quiet in there. One guy , sorry forget your name, was excellent.

I liked the location. The view from my room was nice & it was quiet. Housekeeping forgot once.

Maybe 10 mins walk toward the beach there is a nice selection of restaurants.
The area feels fairly safe. I was alone on this part of my trip & felt comfortable walking around.
For those who enjoy a nice walk, I walked to Santa Monica along the beach front. Takes just over the hour. Lots to look at on the way.

The taxi fare from LAX to the hotel was less than $20. Didn't take long but I landed at 6 am so the traffic was minimal.
Would I stay again ? Yea but hopefully with a good rate.

I stayed here with friends on a girls trip so we chose a suite for space. We were pleasantly surprised that it had 2 full bathrooms and a patio! We arrived early and our room was not ready, but we needed to freshen up for a taping. They directed us to the lobby area restroom where we spread out and plugged in. Being California novices we were also surprised at the proximiy of Venice beach. We rented bikes and there it was! Biking on Venice at sunset is a must, bikes are 15$ for 2 hours 25$ for the day available at the front desk. We were also safe, we had car trouble in the lot one night and security came because they had a report a sports car was being tampered with!
We used the pool and hot tub, average but nice, only walked on their section of mothers beach, and ate at the hotel restaurant. Our only issue came on the last day when the hotel experienced hot water loss. They tried but were unable to get it fixed before we had to check out so they adjusted our bill. I was very impressed with the staff, I would stay at any of these properties.

Small low rise hotel right on the beach/marina inlet. Our Marina view room was well equipped, with a good coffee machine and the beds large and comfortable. Restaurant large and very empty, probably because it is expensive, especially breakfast, but happy hour every tea time makes the prices more reasonable and the food we ate was very good.
This was the last of nine different hotels on our road trip and the least friendly. Reception staff on our arrival, from a very hot las Vegas, were very "unwelcoming" and superior. No cool water and cookies to welcome you while you wait and they very quickly slap a 14dollar a day parking charge on. (which we didn't pay last time we were in the area and the car park was large and empty!) No info just here is you key "have a nice day" spoken without sincerity. Still if you ignore reception this is a nice hotel, but it could be a great hotel if it wasn't so pretentious.

This is one of only two hotels that are actullay on Mothers beach.. the other one is dump it is called Foghorn. Our room was clean and comfy with soft pillows and a very nice bathroom. the free coffee was perfect in the morning and the mini fridge came in handy. Skip the over priced VU resturantant for dinner and take the short walk on the beach path over to Cheesecake Factory where you can sit out side and enjoy good food and service, the VU does make an excellent cocktail but the food is not worth the price.

Room Tip: opt for the marina or partial marina view to avoid the traffic noise so you can enjoy sitting out on...

We stayed at Jamaica Bay Inn for ten nights in July, and although we arrived with high expectations, we were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful little hotel. The room was decently sized, generously equipped with robes and towels, and well-cleaned. We were also happy with the stable wi-fi - for a ten-day stay, good, free wi-fi is a must - and the lovely view of the marina from our room. The room was also remarkably sound-proof, we were never disturbed by our neighbors or sounds in the corridor.

The gym was small, but served its purpose well, and was equipped with water and extra towels. The pool area was peaceful and lovely, and the pool-side service was impeccable.

The breakfast menu in the hotel's restaurant vū was lovely, if a bit pricey, as were the lunch items served pool-side. We dined in restaurant vū only once, and were mildly disappointed in that instance. Fortunately, the hotel in a wonderful location, close both to a Cheesecake Factory and several small lovely restaurants a five-minute walk away, nearer to Venice Beach. (I especially recommend C & O Trattoria on Washington Blvd almost at the Venice Fishing Pier)

I've saved the best for last, the staff was really unique. When we arrived, we were met by the lovely Hilaire, and he was just one of the many friendly and capable staff members who consistently met every need we had professionally and quickly, with a smile. They arranged for car rentals, booked us tickets for sightseeing tours, arranged for bike rentals, and gave us pointers on where to go and when. (All the while smilingly refusing proffered tips.)

A wonderful hotel - I'm definitely staying there again!

Stayed for 4 nights, had an excellent time. The marina view is excellent and the restaurant is based with a view directly onto the marina. Rooms are very well equipped and comforting beds and pillows.
Front desk staff were very inviting and helpful whenever we needed anything
Free internet which is a big bonus not many hotels offer it for free, this is fantastic. We were unfortunately in a disabled room so the shower room was a bit different to what I would expect. The only real setback is the pool is very small and not really very exciting. And parking was $15 a day.
Would definitely recommend value for money!!!!!!!!!!!
