“Savory”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

What a treat to find great Cuban food while visiting Santa Monica. We loved the platanos chips, the lechon asado, and jerk spiced enchiladas. Of course, great mojitos. We ate inside and it was dark and quiet.

“Food was yummy”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

My husband are not familiar with Cuban food but the place was busy and though we'd give it a try. Outside tables were full so we were seated inside. It's a little dark in the evening but I supposed that adds to the intimacy of the place. The service was very good and the plantain chips were very good served with two dipping sauces. I ordered the pork enchiladas and they were excellent, served with white rice, black beans and two thick pieces of baked plantain. My husband had jerk chicken served with the same sides. He said it was OK but he usually doesn't venture too far from American food. We would return to this restaurant.

“Great place to meet for happy hour”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Nice ambience to wind down after a long day. The apps are awesome, especially the salmon taco and the quesadilla. Added bonus is that this restaurant is steps from Venice Beach. Great place for those warm summer nights.

“I suppose typical for the area”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

But it was just average, and an expensive average at that. Service was slow (understaffed) but friendly enough. And how can they not have enough menus that it takes 20 minutes until one is available to look at? Nice start with the plaintain chips and dipping sauces. Barramundi fish was mushy. Side of mashed potatoes was ok. Steak chimichurri was a little overcooked, though still tender; side of rice and black beans ok. Inside dining is crowded; you may end up talking with your neighbors! Don't think we'll go back.

“Love this spot!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

I adore this spot for a bite to ear after a stroll along Venice Beach... I went to it many times over the 2 years that I lived in LA and it never failed to be tasty! The staff were always charming and every now and then live music... Great!! Highly recommended and pretty healthy too. Nice!
