When we are in Marina del Rey we often eat at this very reasonably priced Indian restaurant.
They offer lunch buffet and on certain days even dinner ones.
I have always felt that the kitchen is faithful to the Indian style and ingredients and I always enjoy my meals there.

I've tried this place many times. Each time it got worse. The main problem is the unfortunate service which smacks of a cultural bias. You either play by the rules of their service and bad attitude or you will have problems.

Try Shersha Exotic Cuisine of India in Marina del Rey - If you have any quetions about trying Indian food, start with a restaurant that serves delicious portions. Once time we had the Meat combination platter which offered chicken, and lamb with rice and a dessert of your choice, my friend had the vegetatian platter. It was delicious and you could take some home. Try their Mango or plain lassi (which taste like the Persian doogh with mint). On Monday and Tuesdays, they have a delicious buffet where you can try chicken tandoori, chicken curry (note: menu may change) and there are several vegetarian dishes that taste great with Naan bread and perhaps a sprinkle of a sauce (try the green spicy pesto like sauce or tamarind (sweet) or yogurt sauce. Vegetable favorites are spinach with cheese cubes, allo gobi - cauliflower with potatoes in a mild delicious sauce, chick peas or lentils. And for dessert, on the buffet you can try the rice pudding, mango pudding, the round pastry - gulab jamun and a puree of carrot. A nice way of experiencing India's cuisine.

Food poor, slimy rice, nasty gristle meat, no real flavours. Had some nice daal but everything else not up to standard.

Completely shocking restrooms. I presume the staff use these too? I went early on a quiet day so it wasn't a result of over use. They are filthy and insanitary, this must be an indication of the general level of hygiene in the place. Completely disgusting, I will never ever go back there.
