the oysters are the best! plump and juicy. Done to perfection. The blues music on the patio is great to eat to. Love the horn player that plays 2 at the same time!
The food is NOT pricey for this area! The voodoo platter is HUGE- my boyfriend and I couldn't eat more than 3/4 of it. (thats only $12.50 a person for fish, shrimp, oysters, gumbo and sides!!!!) (oh, and the peach cobbler is not to be missed)
Dogs are allowed on the patio, which is a definite plus for us!

Uncle Darrow's is by far the best cajun/creole cuisine in So Cal. The catfish, shrimp, and oysters are falavorful and lightly battered. The cocktail suace that comes with the shrimp is more gelatenous than sauce. The hot sauce is perfect for the seafood. The red beans and rice is delicious and the greens are tasty. I wish they included more shrimps and oysters in the Po' Boys, but the taste is unparalleled. The only draw back is the price point is higher than most places. Given the location though, you understand the need to cover higher overhead.

The customer service was up close and personal. Norton made me feel like I was dining at a cousins house. The food was fresh and delicious. The price was right and the live Jazz band sealed the deal. The green sauce is a must have! RATFE

This place has the best cajun in LA, no question. While the setting is a bit casual (a strip mall on Lincoln) the food and service are not to be missed. The weekend breakfasts are great, and the weekend gumbo is simply amazing.

One of the owners, Norwood, is super friendly and takes good care of you. Contrary to what one reviewer said, he is not overbearing or in your face; he leaves you alone when you want to be alone. And they have a crawfish boil twice a year that is too fun for words. Check this place out; you won't be sorry.
