Stay here if you need a hotel in the area!! The manager, Kendall Hebda, takes her job very seriously and will be sure that your hotel stay will be the best!!! Beautful, clean hotel with courteous, hard working staff. Breakfast buffet was great for the price! You will not be disappointed.

Location is nice since within walking distance of Venice beach. The hotel lobby is nice and the outside seating with fire pits is cute. The hotel restaurant serves good food. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful Now the bad, valet $26 a day and no self parking within hotel, rooms are basic , I have been at courtyards with much nicer roomes. Old furniture, carpet and a bit stuffy but clean. Halways are stuffy too with old dirty carpets. This hotel is way overpriced. Not worth more than $130/ night.... In my opinion! The rooms are 3 stars at best.

During this trip I stayed at 2 Courtyard Marriott hotels, LAX and Long Beach but thought I would spoil myself by staying at the Marriott Marina Del Ray, I should not have bothered.
The valet parking fellows were friendly and lobby is most impressive, but that is where it ends.
The staff at the front desk were "snooty" and disinterested and simply didn't listen to my request for a room.
The room itself is very dated and tired, more like something out of the the eighties or the Brady Bunch house. I was shocked to find a dirty wet face cloth in the bath, very tacky indeed.
The bathroom was old and dingy also badly lit with thin bath towels and basic basic soap and shampoos and conditioner, something you'd find in a 2 star motel!
Having to climb into a bath to have a shower is just so backwards.

Parking is $26 per day! and you need to pay for internet connection, considering the price you pay for the room that is disgusting and a rip off.

I reported the dirty face cloth problem to someone at the front desk but just got a blank stare and total disinterest, I even got asked if it really was a face cloth. I insisted that someone in management contact me but as i suspected, that didn't happen.

I decided to spend a little time at the pool, for such a large hotel, the pool is tiny. With the sun lounges so close to the edge that I constantly got splashed from people just swimming, so much for having a snooze.

There are no mattresses on the lounges, so when you angle the backrest to 45 degrees you get a metal bar digging into your back.

As to service by the pool, forget it, Tuesdays are a "no service by the pool day".....wonderful

Frankly, I could have been better staying at the Courtyard Marriott, the service and rooms couldn't possibly be any worse, then again maybe a 2 star cheap motel would have done the same job that the Marriott Marina Del Ray provided me.

At that price.....never again!

Room Tip: If you can get past the zombies on the front desk..., Good Luck!

We had a good two-day stay at the hotel recently. The lobby is quite big and tastefully done. The rooms are good-sized also but could do with some renovation. They seem dated, though not dirty. We had a city-facing room so the view was nothing to write home about. The bathrooms were clean but old. They certainly need overhauling. There's a 24 hour CVS close-by (drivable distance) which serves you well if want a late night snack.

The hotel is walking distance to the beach, which is great if that's only what you want to do. However, if you want to go to Santa Monica, or worse Hollywood, it's quite a drive. Valet parking is $25 for the day with unlimited visits and there is no self parking. In a car city like LA, parking should be complementary.

We wanted to stay in the Santa Monica area and booked through Priceline. We were told that this is in the vicinity. It is not. It's about a 20 minute drive to Santa Monica (more, of course, in traffic).

All in all, a pleasant, but not spectacular, stay.

We were very comfortable at this hotel on Marina del Rey and walked to the beach every morning for a nice beach walk. The restaurants on the marina are wonderful, the hotel was clean and all the people we had contact with were very nice. Our room was on the 8th floor, city view side. The view of the water and mountain was beautiful at sunset and the room was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good also. I definitely would recommend this hotel to those who want to be near the beach.

This is a fine hotel with a beautiful lobby and courtyard restaurant, well-located near the marina. Its location is convenient to businesses on the west side, which is why I chose it, and I'm tired of the mediocrity of the Marina Del Rey Hotel where I usually stay. And the hotel fit the bill in almost every way, but the price was considerably more than nearby hotels. Other than that, no complaints. Beautiful views, nice pool. The food in the restaurant was only so-so, but the service was excellent.

I stayed at this Marriott before and some rooms are better than others--especially if you have the distraction of a view of the marina. This stay was on the seventh floor and the carpets throughout the hall were stained and badly in need of replacement. My suite had a dingy depressing living space with small ugly couch. The hotels lobby, bar, lounge, areas are great, as was the concierge service & check in service--it is the rooms that are badly in need updating. Guess that is why the rates are more affordable than some of the the surrounding hotels in Marina Del Rey--I paid a a rate of $220 a night.
