Don't waste your money eating here. Six of us had dinner here on 10/9/2013, and it was not a good experience. Both the food and the service was bad. When we arrived we saw a steak & lobster special written on the board. When the waitress came to take our orders we had to ask her about the special. She quoted the price at $34.95...we passed and ordered other entrees. When we left we all noticed the board said $29.95. Had she given us the correct price a couple of us would have ordered it. Probably a good thing we didn't. One in our party ordered ahi which was cooked to rare as it should be, but overly seasoned with a creole seasoning. It was awful. A roasted chicken entree was so over cooked and dry it took a steak knife to cut it. Mushrooms served with a sirloin was overly seasoned with the same creole seasoning. I could go on and on about the food...it was mediocre at best. For the quality of the food it was grossly over priced! We never got refills on water or coffee, we're never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or a drink refill..service? There was none. We asked for a dessert menu and were brought one, yes one menu, for 6 of us. Our bill was just under $300.00 and the waitress was in the bar talking while we sat there waiting for her to pick up the payment....after about 15 minutes we took it to the cashier ourselves. I am sure they only stay in business because they get customers from the people staying at the resort. Save your money and avoid this place.

Chose Hula Grill b/c it was convenient to our hotel (sanctuary beach resort). I would say it was similar to an Applebees. I had the skirt steak which was done perfectly but had little flavor. My husband had a chicken dish which was overloaded in sauce. We did have a good lettuce wedge salad.

Overall it's convenient but I would pass on this place. I think there are better options to select from in the area

While staying at the Sanctuary Resort we ate on site at this restaurant. No wait for a table, nice staff, decent food. The hamburger was really great if you aren't into watching calories while on vacation! Loaded with avacado, bacon, cheese, grilled onions...just yummy. Had Train Wreck sushi another time and it was good also...not the best sushi I've had but better than buying it in the grocery store for sure. We asked for a wine decanter for our wine (that we brought in) and they couldn't locate one! This is adequate to satisfy the appetite. If you want gourmet, go to Carmel or Monterey...but looking to get good grub..this is good enough!

We had occasion to eat here three evenings in a row while guests at the Sanctuary Beach Resort. In these three nights we sampled many flavorful dishes from the menu, including the Grilled Calamari Strips, Kula Tossed Salad, Kula Asian Salad, Pan Roasted Chicken Breast, Mongolian Beef and Prawns, as well as a few daily specials. All our meals were very tasty and each dish was shared, there being plenty on the plate for both of us. The wine list had a great selection and the suggested wine and food pairings were excellent. The desserts were also yummy. This is a very busy establishment with not only the guests of the resort next door but with wedding receptions, birthday parties, etc., so I would highly recommend reservations. The staff was pleasant, courteous and attentive.
