We use to love coming here. Cheap decent rooms, heat pool and Spa and a so-so, but free breakfast. Close enough to Manhattan Beach.
Our last visit was bad. The pool was cold, the spa was luke warm, the breakfast, some how, was worse. My wife got sick from the room from the spa or room. Not a pleasant stay at all.

Stayed here for the night before flying out of LAX the following day and enjoyed the stay.

The hotel is in a nice location and seemed perfectly safe for walking around day or night. It's about 15mins walk to the promenade at Manhatten Beach and once there, we found a few nice bars/restaurants. There's also a shopping mall with a "Target" store across the road, which is a handy tool.

The room (214) was comfortable and very clean, so I guess it wasn't the same room as rated by recent reviewers. Bed was BIG and comfortable, so after enjoying a few beers while watching the Kings win the Stanley Cup, we both slept soundly.

Other plus points were the shower, which had great water pressure and temperature control and the private parking below the hotel. (Never had time to enjoy the swimming pool and jacuzzi but they looked nice.

Location was good, one mile walk to the beach. Busy street but hotel walls kept out most of the noise. Rooms were very basic, tv and Internet worked intermittently. Had to go to lobby to get Internet to write this review. Possibly it is difficult to buy California king sheet sets as the sheets were old and stained. This is the first time I checked and smelled the sheets to verify they were actually clean. The next time I would look for another hotel before settling.

Room Tip: If you get a promotional price, it is probably worth staying.

I stayed here in August of 2011. The location was nice, only about a mile from the beach. A nice free breakfast every morning. Clean room, nice pool and hot tub. My only complaint is a small one... the key card reader on our door was going bad, so we had to have someone from the front desk come up and help us a couple times, but they were happy to do so. For the location, price and amenities, it's well worth it. If I ever plan on returning to Manhattan Beach, this is where I'll stay.

We only stayed for a long weekend but we were happy with our two bedroom "suite" This hotel is
not really fancy but it is in a great location to be able to enjoy many of the area's amenities. Very close to the pier and fabulous restaurants. We were with a very large group of people and some did have concerns about their rooms, however ours were quite fine. Housekeeping spent a good
amount of time in our suite cleaning so we were not really uncomfortable in any way. Not the best place we have ever stayed but much better than what we had anticipated with the price we received. For a short stay, I would not hesitate to stay again. Free continental breakfast was certainly good although fairly plain if you are planning on staying more than a few nights.

Room Tip: arrive early if you can and if for some reason your room is not to your liking, request a move how...
