“Outstanding and fair value for the price.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

I had the dinner special sirloin which was a 10 ounce sirloin with peppercorn wine sauce, sauteed green beans and mashed potatoes for $25.95. I ordered the sirloin medium and it was medium to medium/well depending on which part of the steak I ate. Although it was SLIGHTLY overcooked it was still an excellent steak. The waiter said that they only serve USDA Prime meat and I would believe it. The steak was flavorful and tender. There was no fat and it was very easy to cut and while it did not melt in mouth it was very easy to eat.

The atmosphere is simply great and it is steps to the beach and Manhattan Pier.

I ordered a 23-ounce Firestone Double Barrel Ale for $9.50. I should have had a red wine with my steak and shame on my waiter for not suggesting it.

The meal was not cheap but considering this is Manhattan Beach and they had a huge sum of money invested in the leasehold improvements it was certainly fair for what I got. It was a business dinner so price didn't really matter but I would certainly buy dinner here a couple times a month and it compared favorably to Salt Creek Grille which is another local eatery I patronage.

The other five people were all satisfied with their meals as well and we all agreed that it was a great choice.

Everything was amazing. The best Swordfish and Corn Maque Choux that I have ever eatin. I loved the open atmosphere. One of the most pleasant beach restaurants around.

“Very good quality seafood, pricey however”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

LOVED the lobster and shrimp but very pricey however enough to share as we did. The clam chowder was the best! chuncky, no grittiness and not fishy at all. Lobster was huge and plumb and juicy. Tight quarters yet still private with music playing about. Right next to Manhatten beach pier as well.

“Menu sounded better than actual meals”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

We ate here on our last night in the LA area, I googled restaurants in the area and came up with this one which could seat us right away. The menu options sounded delicious, however, the meals tasted otherwise. My son ordered a steak which he complained about having no taste at all. The side portions are rather on the small side and since my son did not like his side that he had originally ordered I needed to order him another one at 5.95 which was a small cup of macaroni and cheese. I ordered the Cobb salad which had a big clump of blue cheese on it and usually the blue cheese is scattered throughout the salad, It was just way too much blue cheese. The macaroni and cheese is not really spicy at all! Maybe since it was our last night we were just tired of eating out or maybe the menu is really better than the actual meal.

“mas tequila”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

i love their tequila selection - it reminds me of the ol' muchos... mmm tasty. of all the restaurants in MB, rock 'n fish probably has the best selection of hard liquor. they have a floor-to-ceiling shelf with the requisite rolling ladder to access the top shelves - it's a nice retro touch. oh, and the food doesn't disappoint either. i've had dinner here a number of times and loved the food every time. their aged filet mignon with a side of garlic mash really hits the spot!
