Description: Duke's Malibu has brought the excitement of Hawaii, Waikiki, and surfing to the mainland. The spectacular oceanfront location on Pacific Coast Highway offers over 300 feet of romantic oceanfront dining and memorabilia from both Hawaii and California surfing history. The Barefoot Bar, looking south into the lights of Santa Monica, is a great spot for drinks and casual food with friends.

My niece took my daughter and I here for lunch on our trip to Santa Monica. We loved the big windows facing the ocean. Waves splashed against the big rocks just below the windows while pelicans and gulls soared by. We had a delicious appetizer of crab wontons with a spicy sauce, followed by opah, a mild white fish, with a pickled bok choy salad and confetti rice. The rolls and butter than preceded our meal were great.
Great Fun!

Having been to Geoffrey's some years back, and intending to go again this trip, we decided on Dukes instead, due to it's higher rating on Tripadvisor. Wow, talk about apples and oranges. Dukes was ok, but there was nothing above average about it.

When my family and I went for a birthday, we made a reservation and when we got there we came half and hour earlier and we asked the hostes if she can get us in earlier even though she said I'll try we had to wait for an hour and a half. What's the point of making a reservation if you don't get ur seat on time!! I was soo disappointed and upset. I would never suggest for anyone to go to Dukes.Unless you want to eat breakfast on lunch time.
