Description: Duke's Malibu has brought the excitement of Hawaii, Waikiki, and surfing to the mainland. The spectacular oceanfront location on Pacific Coast Highway offers over 300 feet of romantic oceanfront dining and memorabilia from both Hawaii and California surfing history. The Barefoot Bar, looking south into the lights of Santa Monica, is a great spot for drinks and casual food with friends.

We have dined here several times over the years and have always enjoyed the magnificent views of the ocean as well as the food. When visiting relatives in Malibu recently, we all went to Dukes for dinner on "Taco Tuesday," based upon the suggestion of one of my nieces. We sat in the bar area at an ocean front table and munched on delicious fish tacos while watching the waves crash against the shore, with the ocean spray sometimes splashing up against the windows. Many people who have never been to the Southern California coast really can't even conceive of how truly beautiful and special it is to dine almost literally right on the water on a beautiful star lit night.

As for the food, the fish tacos were terrific. The cost was just three dollars per taco and you can order them with either beer battered or grilled fish fillets, There is an ample portion of tasty white fish in each taco. I tried both but went for second helpings on the beer battered. We finished up with their signature Hula Pie (Macadamia Nut ice cream, Oreo cookie crust and hot fudge) and a Key Lime pie, both of which were larger enough to split after over indulging on some tasty tacos and fries.

There is no shortage of restaurants in Malibu that would not exactly be considered light on the wallet and Dukes's regular menu would be priced more in line with other fine dining options in the area. Taco Tuesday, however, is a great way to dine in a beautiful ocean front setting in a beautiful seaside community and not have to break the bank by doing so.

spent the day driving the coast from LA to Malibu and beyond. A great place to stop and the Barefoot bar at happy hour is excellent. Good choice of food and great atmosphere and view of the ocean. this is right on the water. Only a few tables, but if you can get one it is a great spot! The grilled fish tacos were excellent and the Opa macnut was just awesome!

This was a great spot on PCH to stop at and enjoyed sitting outside. We arrived before noon and there was plenty of open tables outside, but just a few more minutes that went by it was full. The ocean was right in view with a few surfers as well. Fish tacos were good as well as the other food. I would go back.

We arrived for breakfast on a sunday morning in late July, no delay in being shown to a table - on sunday there is a choice either the brunch at $25 or you can choose from the bar menu, initially we had decided on the bar menu but really when you go and see the bruch it looks and smells just amazing... so we decided on brunch, we had a table on the terrace at the side of the bar, which is an excellent location for views of huge waves and surfers, but if you are getting the brunch its a walk down to where it is served, the waitress service was efficient, not overly friendly - just adequate and no major interest in telling us about the food on offer, just 'go and look for yourselves'..
The quality and standard of the food was excellent and from what i could see you could sit there all day and eat if you wanted to. There was a huge choice of food and covered every type of palate.
Would defnitely recommend - however be careful of little extras like $4.50 for a small pot of tea and you ask for a jug of water and a bottle is brought at $6... but overall a wonderful experience.
