In a local stip mall with great food, great service and Malibu prices. Can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch. High end clothing stores, Starbucks and Coffee Bean within a short walk.

“Good food, Slow service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

I ate at Marmalades in Malibu 4 times in the 4 days I was visiting. First time was for dinner. The Chicken Teriyaki with Jasmine rice and vegetables and a side order of sweet potato fries were all great with large portions. Second visit was for breakfast, and had the egg white spinach and goat cheese omelet which was my favorite, I had their large raisin cookies and coffee after both meals. Enjoyed those cookies so much went back twice more just for cookies and coffee for a night cap before going back to hotel for the evening. Service was a little slow on all four occasions but it didn't keep me away.
Great place!

“A charming cafe near Malibu Pier”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We visited Thousand Oaks California last weekend for a USAG gymnastics meet and were looking for a nice place in Malibu for lunch. I looked on Trip Advisor and saw the glowing reports from other reviewers about Marmalade Cafe, so I recommended to the rest of our group of 13 people that we try out this restaurant. It is located in a small but high end shopping center on the north side of the Pacific Coast Highway in between the pier and Pepperdine University. Our large group walked into a full restaurant but that didn't phase the hostess. She cheerfully greeted us and told us that they would find us a table. About 10 minutes later all of us were seated at two tables. The service was excellent and they were great at handling orders between the table of our teenagers and our table. Our food came quickly and we were pleased with how great everything was. My husband ordered a fish taco plate that was delicious!! My turkey sandwich was also good. The atmosphere was lively and the restaurant was still hopping when we left. The location was convenient to nearby shopping, Pepperdine and the Malibu Pier and beach. The quick service and convenient location were a perfect combination for our brief visit to Malibu before our meet in Thousand Oaks.

“Good food, average service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

After spending a couple of hours at the beach up the coast in January 2013 we need to find somewhere for lunch. We were a little bit over the huge portions we had been served in many LA restaurants so tried to get some smaller portions by ordering from the starter or entree menus. The food was very good quality, quickly served and none of us felt bloated, which made a nice change.
The ambience of the restaurant was nice, it was about 2pm so pretty quiet.
The only thing that let it down slightly was the service, having experienced some really good service in some places, the waiter here while doing nothing wrong whatsoever just didn't seem all that interested in us, he was just going through the motions. Maybe he was tired or had had a bad day, who knows. Suffice it to say that this was one of the only times on our holiday that we did not leave a tip.
