“Worth the extra expense!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014 via mobile

Access to the beach and facilities is worth the extra cost. You will pay 6 dollars for parking with validation for 4 hours. Perfect amount of time for a meal and relaxing at beach.
Food is good with some innovative options. Recommend sitting outside in the sand patio for the full effect.
Beach is safe and clean. Lounge chairs and day beds are comfy. If you are close to the restaurant you can get free wifi.

“Eating right at the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

I like the fact that you can have lunch or dinner right at the beach. There are not a lot of places in California and this one just does it for me. The food is very good, they have a great selection and the atmosphere is just awesome. Once you are done eating (inside or outside) you can get your wine, beer or water and just relax outside in the sand while your kids are running around and having fun. I just wish there would be more places like this.

“Great for Coffee Too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

This place can get very busy at weekends. Previously we have often just gone for a wonderful walk on the beach when the wait for a table was way too long, but this means you get stung for an up to $30 parking charge. However we have discovered that if you just want to walk on the beach buying a $3 coffee allows you to get your parking validated and is free....at least it was for us midweek in February!

“It's all about the view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

We were seated, by request, on the beach - sand in our toes, comfortable shade overhead. I mean, how many places can you sit on the beach for lunch in January, with perfect SoCal weather?
The food is only so-so, but portions are huge (and expensive). Fries calamari was tough and chewy and heavily breaded, as was almost everything on the "hot" combination sampler. Drinks are also very pricey. Service was efficient but not particularly friendly. But the hook to all this mediocrity is the beach itself - clean, white sand, great people watching. It's the overall experience that leaves a certain satisfaction. It took me back to old Frankie Avalon beach bunny movies of yesteryear, and that's not a bad thing! Toes in the sand, cold beer in my hand - what's to complain about, really?
