“Fresh fish”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Went to reel inn and had the fish and chips, fish was cooked great but the chips and coleslaw were pretty ordinary. Portions a bit small but the fish saved the day.

“Great Spot for a Quick Bite...”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Just outside of Santa Monica, and on your way into Malibu you will find the Reel Inn located on th east side of the PCH. This is a great spot to stop for lunch. They have a great seafood selection at reasonable prices, and pretty quick service.

“Good fish! But the rest was lacking.”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Flew out to California this weekend to check out the L.A. Auto Show and hang out with my cousin and sister. My niece, suggested that I try the Reel Inn Restaurant while we were cruising about. It is a small hole in the wall type place, across the street from the ocean.

The arrangement is simple enough. They have a list of fish entrees, you pick the type of fish that you want them to cook. It can be grilled, sauteed ($1 more) and blackened ($1 more). I had mine Snapper sauteed.

The food came quick enough (less than 10 minutes). It was definitely fresh, but it didn't really WOW me over as having some really good fantastic taste. The sauce on top of this fish was rather bland. The rice, well some parts of its were just plain hard, not moist. Then there is the coleslaw. Well, it tasted like coleslaw.

There wasn't anything wrong with the food, but a lack of real taste. I cannot cook well, my food taste like that food. Oh the entrees ran about $14 to $17 dollars. Even if the taste doesn't knock me over I did expect more food to eat. I was still hungry when I left. Well, In N Out hamburger finally satisfied the void.

“Great lobster”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

When I visit LA, this is one of the places I like to go back and its worth every penny you spend on it.
This time I ordered the lobster with grilled shrimps and it was simply delicious!

Great casual place to stop and have some fresh fish. The tacos are great and so are the fish and chips. This is a very, very casual place. However, sometimes that is just what you want after a long day at the beach!
