We were on our honeymoon, enjoying a Californian road trip and we decided to stop off here for lunch on our way to Santa Monica. Be prepared to pay for parking, the valet service is a bit aggressive, but ignore that and relax enjoying the view and delicious food.
We were so glad that we chose to sit in the sunshine; we sat unwinding on sofas with a spectacular view of the Malibu coast. This is an informal dinning experience with a low table, but as the food we enjoyed was sharing plates, so it wasn't an issue. The waitress gave great recommendations and we ate our way through sashimi, a seaweed salad, the black cod, that does live up to the hype and a selection of sushi. I would also recommend trying a Mia Margarita, be warned it has a bit of a kick.
We would love to return again one day to see how the experience would differ in the evening.

This is THE place for celeb watching. Very expensive--very chic--and a posers paradise! Booking is advised, although we were able to find a table with no problem. As you would expect, the food is world class, the service perfect and the bill high. Perfect place to see and be seen!

Rare to find a restaurant that has world class space, views and food. Its pricey as you would expect from any Nobu culinary artistry experience. Great bar and outdoor space. As for the scene, you ask? Well, we are in Malibu. Good luck on scoring a reservation so plan ahead.

Love this restaurant , excellent food . I don not even like sushi that much . but very fresh can not get enough of their very tasty appetizers , dishes . this is not an inexpensive place so be prepared . the only problem I have yet to get a table reservation, they seem booked almost always no matter what day . so you have to sttle for bar/ patio. if you find a seat . worth a try for sure .will go back.

My cousin was visiting from Boston and made reservations months in advance for a Thursday night at 845pm, which was the only open reservation that week. The night before, they called and asked that we try to arrive early, since there is quite a bit of construction and are several bottlenecks on PCH these days. We ended up arriving at 8pm and felt the hostess was a little dismissive when we checked in and she replied with "your table will be ready on time at 845..." and quickly turned her attention to others, without mentioning the outdoor patio which was first come first serve. We figured it out on our own eventually, however I felt that this info should be stated considering that they are requesting everyone show up early and the inside of the restaurant and bar are packed wall to wall. If you aren't an A-list celeb (a couple of whom happened to be there that night), don't expect to treated like someone who is about to drop several hundreds of dollars on a meal.

Our waiter was nice, but struggled mightily with the fact that two in our party of three had dairy allergies. We were very upfront about it, since the menu did not seem to clearly state much about any dairy ingredients on anything. We only had to send one item back, due to the fact that he had forgotten about the allergy that we discussed in great length. However, even after that event, when it came time for desert, he immediately went into his script pressing us on all of their amazing deserts (when only the sorbet was non-dairy), similarly to the situation with the hostess, we just felt like another table.

The yellow tail was delicate and delicious. Wish the portion size was a little larger for that price, but I would recommend trying. With 3 people at the table, it disappears extremely quickly. The king crab tempura was a light golden brown and the black cod was cooked perfectly. Both of those dishes were perfect serving sizes for shared dishes. The soft shell crab rolls had a nice mix of textures and flavors. The tuna mini tacos were refreshing, but not for everyone. We ordered the shrimp mini tacos, which everyone at the table disliked. My wife and I have VERY different pallets, so this is probably the first time we have ever agreed on something that we both dislike in a restaurant.

We finished off trying each one of the 5 sorbets available. We could all do without 4 of them, but we ordered two more scoops of the coconut. Sweet, silky and smooth.

If you are on a tight budget, be warned - These are not entrees. The plates are meant to be shared by multiple people, and are not large, so they go very quickly. With one inexpensive bottle of wine, and no additional drinks, our bill came to $250 for 3 of us. In a larger group, with drinks, and an appetite, expect a MUCH larger bill.

Most of the food was delicious, parking lot is filled with Ferrari's and other extremely high end vehicles, and the view is stunning. Staff is need of some lessons in customer service, and after reading quite a few other reviews, my opinion is not unique. That said, I'm curious to visit again and see if my experience is consistent.
