“Great hikes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

I really love this place. It provides options of hikes where you can do more if you want and stay flat if you want.

Add to that the amazing views from the mountains and the ocean. Breathtaking!

There's good /reasonable restroom in the area.

If you like to camp there's also a place.

There's daily fee to pArk 12usd for general.

“Excellent hiking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

I hiked to Mugu peak several times (Chumash trail?). Also hiking La Jolla Canyon and Ray Miller to the overlook trail. Typically you have a steep climb up until you get to a plain which is mostly just grass lands but the climb in has interesting rock formations, and interesting plant life. The recent fire however turned everything black on those two trails. However we did see three deer there, perhaps because there is no place to hide now. Still and interesting and fun hike.

“Mountain Bike Trails w/ Ocean Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you're looking for some challenging trails for hiking or mountain biking, they're here. If you're looking for moderate trails to help you improve your skills, they're here. If you're looking for a place to bring the whole family and the bikes, it's here! This is one of the best parks for bikes and families I know of. Parking fills up fast so plan to get here early. If you're not familiar with the park, get a map and study it well. Some trails gain 2100 feet above sea level. Some go even higher. There are sweet single tracks, and serious climbs for advanced riders. On hot days, the ocean breeze keeps the canyon cool so you can get a little shade. Recent fires swept through the area and wiped out a lot of brush. It will return but for now, PLEASE show your respect for trails and stay on them. Don't invent your own! You'll be amazed at the rebirth and recovery happening all around you. A great lesson for kids to see this important cycle of life. Bring a picnic lunch. You can finish your day at the beach. It's the best place to experience all that California can offer in a single day. Oh, and listen carefully - those weird bird sounds you hear are flocks of wild parrots!

“Like the Beach?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Here it is. Views all over to enjoy. South of Pt Mugu Naval Air Station. Look across the water and check out sea lions on the beach of the Naval Air Station. It is a good place to enjoy on the way to someplace else.
