“Many Springs Trail”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I visited Bow Valley Provincial Park as part of a day trip to K-Country from Calgary, and it was a fantastic way to spend the morning. It's a beautiful park with lots of options for hiking and picnics. I took the Many Springs Trail, as it is famous for its wildflowers in the spring. As it turns out, we went on Victoria Day Week-End, so the flowers weren't all out, but it was still a tremendously pretty trail with nice views of Mount Yamnuska. There are nice interpretive signs as well that explain the history of the trail and the region. After hiking along the trail, we headed to Middle Lake for a picnic, and it was a really nice spot. There's also plenty of camping in the park, and we saw lots of families while we were there. If you like great scenery and great hikes, this is the place for you!

“Campground fun”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Lots of nice sites, electrical hookups and the best part is online reservations, so you can book ahead and make sure you have a sight. They also have a very good campground store aand the price an are reasonable and wow, they have a lot of merchandise for a small store!
There's lots to do.. Kananaskis White Water Rafting, you can sign up at the campground store ( its a blast!) there's lots of biking, hiking and if you area Climber, there's Yamnuska. Canmore is 15 minutes away and is a beautiful community. I prefer it to Banff, and you don't need a park pass to go there. Great restaurants and shopping..it's s nice little folksy town.
There's also Nakoda Casino that is about ten minutes drive away, if you are so inclined. The scenery is beautiful and you can take day trips from the campground and see all kinds of scenery and animals.
I love going there!

“Bow valley provincial park”

Beautiful scenery and fantastic camp sites. Heat shows at night for the kids. Could use a good interpretive center for kids and don't stay too close to the river, the train goes by several tomes a day and is loud

“Not just for camping.”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Two campgrounds have a variety of sites with electrical hookups, and comfort stations with showers and flush toilets, but there is more to the park than just camping.

Areas for a picnic, a number of trails for hiking, a paved path for bicycle riding, and down on the shores of the Bow River, a location for fishing. Middle Lake, Many Springs Lake and the Bow River provide classic views of Yamnuska, the 'wall of stone", Mount John Laurie.

This park just into K-country has many pathways along the Bow. Beautiful setting with Yamnuska to the north. Take your camera.
