“Nice Getaway”

Nestled in village of Kananaskis this lodge offer atranquil and relaxing stay. I beleive about 8-9 years ago all big worrld leaders stayed here during G8 summit.. not sure if this will make the village more celebre or just more avoidable. Anyway the hotel provides ample rooms and a very well appointed swimming pool arae wher eyou can relax after a hiking or skiing day.

After a nightmare week at the Rimrock in Banff a weekend at this hotel was a true relief- the property, service, rooms are all top notch- Only fault is that it is not in Banff or close to much else except Nakiska ski area! Rooms are spacious, a lot of planned activities for kids, pool area is great for relaxing after a day of skiing. A true gem in the Rockies!

Sorrounding area is also great for walks etc.... for those who don't ski.

We stayed here with our kids for a ski trip to Nakiska. The hotel itself was overpriced but we found it worth it in the end due to the close location to Nakiska and the overall experience with our kids was fun!!

I stayed at this property in early-December during a business conference. First impression is that the hotel/resort is out of the way...but that is why people come to the Delta Kananaskis. We were there on business, so while the natural beauty of the surrounding area were slight distractions, it was quiet and peaceful, which let us get on with the job at hand. I imagine those coming on holidays, this hotel would be outstanding for nature walks, mountain-biking, x-country skiing, downhill skiing and of course, ice skating in the winter!

The check-in was very friendly and efficient. I found that most people at the front desk have an accent, I think my clerk was either German or Austrian. This makes sense as I believe the hotel has its own staff quarters and I heard that young people come from all over the world to work here. Oh, the crackling fire in the large, stone fireplace was also a nice touch.

I was given a loft room with a king size bed which I found very clean and comfortable. The linens were very good, particularly those on the bed. The room had a 40" flat screen TV on the wall above the gas fireplace. I did find the TV to be a little too high for comfortable viewing. The room did have a small bar fridge which was convenient for small items.

The bathroom was clean; however, I found it to be very cramped for space. The counter was very small and the tub was smaller than normal. You had to stand side-ways to close the door.

I found the room to be comfortable, but a little worn. It could use an update and hopefully Delta has that in the cards for the near future.

Finally, a word on the hotel's restaurants/pubs. I found that the food and drink quality and selection to be better than usual. However, the prices were very high for what you received. I suppose this is to be expected when you are in the middle of the mountains, be be forewarned for those who think they are coming in on a budget. Tip: Go to the little grocery store across the quadrangle for sandwiches, soup and home-made goodies.

I would come back...next time with my wife!

Awesome hotel in the quiet village of Kananaskis. We stayed at 2 queen room they very spacious and comfortable. The resort charge for parking on their underground parking lot but you can park outside for free. As amenities there are restaurants a swimming pool were we spent a lot of time and a children creativity center .we went hiking there are few good hiking trails around the village or you can ski at Nakiska in winter.

We were here for a weekend for my birthday. My husband and I both love the mountains and have been to many other areas here but this is the first time we have stayed in Kananaskis. It is all by itself in a beautiful mountain area great for it's hiking trails and peacefulness. The front desk staff gave us a great room with a nice view of the mountains just as we requested prior to arrival. We were told if the view wasn't to our liking they would find us another. No need, it was very pretty. We had dinner in Grappa the Italian restaurant. Absolutely delicious!! We had the catch of the day which was Sea Bass, yummy. The portions are small as you would see in many nice restaurants, but the flavours made up for that 10 times over. They were very busy that evening so there was a bit of a wait for our meals but we didn't mind. The chef is right in the restaurant so you can see her constant busy-ness. We did not express or imply any impatience yet our server offered us complimentary salad and dessert!
A nice place to go to unwind, relax and feel gratitude for the great fortune of such beauty in our world.

We attended a wedding here and even though we visit Kananaskis Village every year, we always just stop in on our way home from a hike and visit the store and courtyard. We had no idea what was behind the hotel doors.

Staff seemed to be everywhere greeting you and asking if you needed anything.

Pros:
*wonderfully comfortable rooms
*clean
*attentive staff everywhere all the time
*unbelievable pool, spa and fitness centre...better than some regular city facilities
*always people around. Usually at hotels, the hotel empties out during the day. Here, people are always around making the hotel seem like the attraction (it's not, people are out hiking and biking and stuff but they always return to the hotel between activities)
*lots of places to eat, the sandwich bar was really good and affordable.

Cons
*long distances to walk between rooms. The corridor is almost 200 rooms long with the main reception elevators roughly in the middle. So if you forget something in your room, it's a long trek back (I had the furthest room). Ask for a more central room if you can
*the Italian restaurant was a bit slow
*didn't get hot water a couple times, wasn't sure if I didn't wait long enough but it wasn't a great hassle. I'm sure if I had called down, the whole engineering corp would have been there looking into it.
