So, lets start with the service. Not one hotel employee during the 3 nights we were there failed to smile and say hello when they say us in the hallways, everyone was super nice and attentive and always concerned about how we were enjoying ourselves. Granted, we were there midweek, so it was super slow. But for me, this is my type of vacation! The mountain views are extraordinary and breath taking. It was an amazing time for sure. They offer complimentary breakfasts and 4 PM Hors d'oeuvres which were nothing short of amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The room attendant staff were non evasive, all you have to do is fill out a card before you go to bed, hang it on your door knob which says the time you want them to make up your room the next day and they will not bother you at all!! The hot tub and pool is huge and inviting. The workout room offers many different varieties of machines and work out tools, yup!! The whole place is awesome. Be sure to check out my other reviews of the restaurants on this property as I have reviewed them all separately. I definitely recommend this place for any type of getaway you might have in mind. Nakiska Ski Area is literally 2 minutes away, they provide ski and golf equipment storage and get this: they even meet you at the front door to greet you when you first check in!! When does that happen?? I could go on and on for a while trying to explain the awe I experienced my whole time there, but I will leave it to you to decide for yourself. Thanks Delta! GREAT JOB!!

Room Tip: Stay in the Mt. Sparrowhawk Suite. Worth every penny and moment!!

We stayed at this Delta hotel by fluke wanting to ski and snowboard close to Calgary. It is less than 30 minstrel off the Trans Canada trail. What a find! This hotel is exquisite, and the staff are fantastic! We stayed in the Signature Club, well worth the price! Our room was a loft room and came complete with a real wood fireplace. The hot tub is very cool as it goes outside! Nakiska ski resort is 2 minstrel away, and really has runs to suit everyone. My wife is a novice skier and she did fine here. We'll worth the short deviation off the main highway. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Signature Club!

We had a two night stay at the Delta Lodge Kananaskis over the Easter Weekend in 2013. Everything about the stay was decent. We stayed in the Premier Lodge with included breakfast and afternoon snacks and honor bar.

Pros:
The snacks and honor bar were a great way to relax mid day.
The breakfast was busy but tasty.
The room was comfortable but pretty basic and dated.
The Big Horn Pub was a hit with our group, live music, good food and excellent service.
The Pool Area and Spa are very nice with a steam room, dry sauna and an indoor outdoor hot tub.

Cons:
The honor bar wasn't exactly honorable, someone charged an extra two beers to our account.
The bathroom lay out was not great. You stepped out of the very tiny shower and the door slammed into the toilet.
The Wild Fire Grill was one of the worst restaurants we have had the misfortune to visit. That being said, our server did a great job of rectifying the situation and transferring us to the Big Horn Pub, which was a highlight of the trip.

Over all a good visit.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of your Easter long weekend visit at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.

We appreciate your comments as it lets us know what area(s) we might need to make changes in or improvements and is invaluable to us. I am very sorry to hear that your experience in the Fireweed Grill was less than satisfactory and your concerns have been discussed with our Food & Beverage and Restaurant Teams for internal review. We want all of our restaurants and food outlets to provide exceptional experiences in service and offerings; please accept our sincere apologies that this was not the case for you.

I do hope that you brought the extra beer charged to your room from the Signature Club honour bar to the attention of the Front Desk Agent when you checked out so that it could be removed from your bill.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again another time.

Kind regards,

We were only here for one night, 3 minutes rom Nakiska Ski resort so perfect place to stay if you are going to ski. The front desk staff was super friendly, the service staff at Fireweed was excellent, as was the food. The pool and hot tub were extremely clean and spacious. I would definitely return, as this was a wonderful one night getaway from the city.

We did 4 days' skiing at Nakiska and based here. A superb resort with a wide range of services to make everything easy. Large rooms, shuttle to ski station, storage, large swimming pool and inside/outside hot tub. Lovely location with lots of walks around. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Restaurant facilities generally ok. There are 6 options but 2 were shut most of the time we were there. Wine pricey!

Room Tip: Standard rooms are fine. We had 1050 and 1048. Ground floor and not far from reception. Interconnect...

We stayed only one night and were thrilled to learn we were upgraded to signature club. The rooms were beautiful and clean. We had a lovely view.

Took full advantage of the pool and hot tub. The changing facilities were a bit limited and after a day of heavy use were in need of cleaning.

Food was good but not exceptional. Found the food and wine prices to be a bit high. $17 for a glass of Sauvignon blanc is pricey.

Concierge and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

It was a nice place for a short break.

We were a couple with 3 kids and grandparents. Stayed in the basic room with adjoining door to the grandparents. The hotel went all out for the easter estravaganza. There were many activities for the kids. Our oldest took in the magic show both Friday and Saturday night. They had face painting and tatoos all three days we were there for the kids. Bouncy castle was a nice extra in the ballroom where we had the buffet both nights. During the day we took in some of the easter events like finger puppet making, basket making etc. They really do cater to kids and families. Children under 6 eat for free. The Easter brunch was fabulous as it always is, with lots of variety and something for everyone.
Had lunch at the fireweed grill one day and bit disappointed, food not great.

We used the pool one day which was nice and clean and kids had fun.
Rooms were clean, be aware this is a pet friendly hotel, if you have allergies be cautious. Not just small dogs but large ones also.
Bathroom was a bit small to move around in. Beds were comfy but the mattress pad(or shall we say tiny tiny pad that covered only a portion of the bed)was in need of replacing. The sheets were not fitted sheets and appeared to be too small as anytime you rolled over the sheets came with you. Frustrating that the mattress was always exposed which was a bit disgusting.

Outside pathways and environment was great as always. Lots of hiking and things to do around resort area.

Never used the spa.
Service from staff was great.
Coffee shop was good but busy and needing more tables and space for people to sit.

Overall a great easter weekend. The lodge deserves great applause for the kids activities (easter egg hunt, bunny bedtime stories etc) they went all out. Would stay here again. Excellent for families and people who love being in the outdoors.

Room Tip: stay in the lodge not the manor as most of the amenties are here, that way you do not need to walk...
