The 4/5 boardwalk loop that meanders throughout the entire Elfin Forest makes this botanical treasure accessible for just about anyone of any age. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy incredible views of Morro Bay and the Rock on one side, and the hills of San Luis Obispo on the other.

While you can access the Forest from several of the streets, I believe to get to the boardwalk (which just makes it so much easier), you need to enter at 16th street -- at that point, the boardwalk comes all the way out to the parking lot, which would be a big plus for anyone using a wheelchair or walker.

Great views of the Morro Bay. The boardwalk allows you to see what this area was like before the town was built.

If you want a short, flat, easy hike on a boardwalk surface you can't beat the Elfin Forest. There are interpretive signs along the way. This is a very special place where due to the soil and limited water the oaks grow into tiny, twisted miniatures. Birdwatching is great, as are every-changing views of Morro Bay.

Nice boardwalks and forever views. Meander and explore this enchanted forest preserve. The boardwalks make it possible for wheel chairs to explore, and easy foor strollers, too.

This is an interesting walk with a beautiful view and some overlook points to stop and gaze at the Morro Bay estuary.
