Long stretches of bluffs and beaches, often all to yourself… tide pools, even a blow hole if you know where to look. Mountains to hike and creek canyons to stroll. Montana De Oro is truly a jewel on the Central Coast. Don't miss the Pt. Buchon Trail at the end of the State Park road. It has a beautiful sea cave at the far end of Coon Creek beach that you can walk into at low tide; a large sink hole left by a collapsed sea cave; sea stacks that remind you of Stone Henge; and a spectacular view from Windy Point. Just be sure to take your own food and water. Off the beaten path, Montana De Oro lets me enjoy nature at its best!

Special, beautiful place for us. One of the first places I went as a Poly freshman, one of the places I always returned to, I got engaged here, and whenever we are in the area, we visit. Natural beauty that never ceases to amaze. Easy parking, well marked trails, lots to do and see, or simply to sit and do nothing. Great place to visit. Fun place to camp, hike, take in nature.

We checked out Spooners Cove and the bluff trail and we can't wait to go back to see the rest of the park. The wildlife and views of the coast, as well as Morro Rock are just spectacular.

this state park has good trails that parallel the sea cliffs of Montana de Oro. the many views of the waves crashing over the rocks is spectacular. If you take a good pair of binoculars sea otters can be seen in the kelp beds and many species of birds can be seen. Also, if your time is permitting, visit the little museum near the camping sites, the exhibits are great and the staff is very knowledgeable about the park.

An easy picturesque walk along the California coast. Spring is when the mountain gets its name....golden flowers everywhere.
