Attraction details
Owner description: Our Santa Ynez Valley winery tasting room offers one of the Central Coast’s most comfortable and comprehensive visitor experiences, including daily winery tours and extensive picnic facilities. Archive photos and other artifacts chart the Firestone family’s pioneering heritage, from turn-of-the-century tire innovation to the establishment of Santa Barbara County’s first estate winery in 1972. The recently remodeled tasting room features an island bar and picture windows that overlook our estate vineyards. We strive to offer an informative and welcoming atmosphere that will appeal to wine enthusiasts and novices alike. Our free daily tours guide you through the history of the winery, and through the production of fine wine from vine to glass. Tours begin at the demonstration cork tree and continue out into the estate vineyards. The winemaking process is then showcased from the crush pad to the fermentation cellar to the barrel cellar. Tours typically last between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of guests and depth of questions. Tours depart daily at 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

The winery has a nice view and has wines for everyone's taste. By joining the wine club you are members of several other wineries where you can taste for free. You can also cash in on the member's discount for the purchase of any wine at any of the affiliate wineries! We went in yesterday (a Saturday) and the staff was very nice and helpful. Worth the stop.

“Not worth the drive”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We drove from Santa Barbara to see the vineyard. We waited ten minutes for a wine tasting with no acknowledgment from any of the employees despite the fact we were up to the bar. We finally had to position ourselves in front of one of the employees as she helped a couple who had just walked in. The tour was rather boring and not worth the time.

Reviewed May 31, 2013

STAFF: Dawn 5+- stars
The staff was busy but the service DID NOT lack, we had Dawn who is so sweet and just wonderful to talk to, she brings the whole experience together with conversation, she does not just pour the wine, we laugh and we smile with her, she has an outgoing nature, but is yet very professional, she made the time so much fun, She took us into the wine cellar so we may take pictures.....absolutely beautiful!

WINE: 5- stars
I am begining to like them more and more and might just sign up, I have so many decisions to make with all the wineries they have whithiin the Foley Food and Wine Society. Eni miny miny mo. I think your it Firestone!!!!, thanks to Dawn, as she told us that it would be in our best interest to sign up because all of the wonderful things we get by being a member. We were informed when signing up for the Society that if we won the trip to New Zealand, we had to take Dawn as one of the 4 that get to go. I think we can handle that!!!!I think you got us Dawn, we will sign up next time we are in. Enjoying your favorite " Lineage" as we speak.

AMBIANCE: 5- stars
Beautiful inside gives a warmth of old world style to the inside and the outside has the mountains afar just gorgeous looking out thier tasting room windows, just amazing! Water for us and cheese plates with olives and crackers, variety of non-alcoholic drinks for the DD's. Great music

OVERALL EXP: 5- stars
The whole experience was great we will be back time and time again, and we will most definantley come there on the weekends to see Dawn, she is super, loves her job and does an awesome job doing it.

Attended a wedding in March which included wine from Firestone for dinner. Enjoyed the red and white wine. The location is beautiful. Weather was nice in March but cools down quickly at night. Everything very clean and nice.
