I've stayed in this hotel several times over the past 10 years and i've always liked it. The location right off the Shopping and resturaunts in los gatos is a big plus. The staff has always been friendly and attentive to needs / requests. Be aware that the fitness center is upstairs in the shopping center next door, but is pretty well equipped. I haven't experienced the construction issues as I'm not there in the daytime but the results are quite nice. Ask for one of the remodelled rooms and you get a very nice bathroom with a spa- like feel. Los Gatos is a great town to wander on foot in the evenings. also convenient for a quick jump to hwy 17 and a day in Santa Cruz. and ask about discounts when you book.

We stayed at Toll House for 4 nights with our 4 month old baby. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and newly decorated. The lobby, hallways, etc. were also clean and safe. The location in downtown Los Gatos was perfect for walking to food and shops. Free parking.

The heating/ac unit in our room was malfunctioning the first night but we called maintenance and they fixed the problem the next day.

Overall we were very comfortable and would plan to stay there again.

First of all.. I would NEVER pay the prices everyone listed. I tried the Priceline name you r price and believe me they acepted my offer which was closer to 60% off the best price anyone offered! I wonder if I could have gotten the room even cheaper.. I paid $89 for my room and I felt it was a good deal for that price. By the way, our room was completley updated from the ultra modern sleek beautiful bathroom to the new Large flat screen TV. Our bed had down pillows and a feathertop mattress, and I slept fantastic! Even found good Starbucks coffee in room and luxury bathrooms and slippers for us to use. Very clean and nice touch at turndown, Fresh made Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies. If you are planning a stay at Los Gatos, I would suggest you try naming your price thru Priceline and getting the best deal. Closest price I could find with anyone else was $197 I saved $108 over the best offer of any other online travel deal.

Travel agent not informed construction (NOISE) in progress - starts at 8 am each morning. Got a note under door last night that there would be no water all night. Sorry for the inconvenience. "Since you may need water, we won't charge the $2/bottle tonight only."

Room ok. Nice widescreen TV. Nice designer bathroom, robes, bed.

Bar / restaurant nice but overpriced - a glass of wine $13 - wasnt even from france! Bar is the best thing going at this place.

Exercise room has a newer elliptical and a 10 year old stairmaster that had a note: out of order - thanks for your patience - every day of our weeklong stay.

This place used to be a great place.

We chose the Toll House to have our Semi-Annual for it's location (close to shops, restaurants, etc). Meeting space was wonderful, very spacious. Our meeting was from Mon-Thur and out of those 4 days we had to put up w/ the construction noise for the 3 days we were there! Worst of all is they turned off the water throughout the hotel from 10am-3pm on our first day, which means bathrooms were out of order - unable to flush had to be manually flushed by housekeeping! Unfortunately, we were not given a notice that there will be construction right next to where our meeting will be! Spoke to GM and Mgrs but they were not able to stop the construction as the construction people only take orders from the Corporate Office! It would've been nice to have been notified about their construction beforehand. We would've have moved elsewhere to hold our event. Note that this meeting was for 45 attendees coming from all over the world.

We were staying at the hotel because we were attending a wedding nearby. Because of our work schedule we had to check in on the day of the event. We contacted the Toll House well in advance of our stay and requested two rooms close by because we were bringing my wifes mother with us. We also requested an early check in so my wife could help her mother get ready. The wedding was on a Saturday. Upon our arrival, we found one lone clerk, trying to check in several parties. The check in area is small and made smaller by the placement of large furniture too close to the desk. I would describe the scene as chaotic. When it was finally our turn, we were told one of our rooms was ready and one would be ready soon. They were not close to one another although at least in the same wing. The clerk promised to call our room and advise us when the other room was available. They would not let us pre-register for the room that was not available. We had luggage for three adults, there was no assistance with that. I grabbed a nearby cart but the carpet in the hallways made pushing the loaded cart fairly strenuous although not impossible. It was now 1 p.m. the wedding was at 3 p. m. The call to tell us the second room was ready never came. So the three of us dressed in our room. I tried to register my mother-in-law prior to leaving the hotel for the wedding but found the lobby still in a state of confusion, although by this time, at least there was two people behind the desk. Overall, I think the staff of this establishment needs training in hotel 101. They were curt and uncooperative. It is a remodeled older building and the ambience is nice but the staff brought the whole experience down to what can only be described as exasperating. This is after all, the service business, isn't it?
