“Go only for the sweets - skip the soups and sandwiches”
Reviewed June 28, 2008

Why in the world this tiny show has sandwiches and soups on its menu is a mystery. They don't do them well. They should stick to the sweets that they seem to master.

“Great croissant, poor coffee”
Reviewed January 5, 2008

The patisserie is exceptionally good, and priced accordingly. The coffee is surprisingly bad. A shame.

The croissants of the Mission College Cooking School (whatever its title) are equally good on the Sundays that they are at the Farmers' Market. Slightly cheaper and slightly larger!

“Authentic French Patisserie in Downtown Los Gatos, CA”
Reviewed December 21, 2007

Transplanted French people and Francophiles rejoice at this nifty little cafe in downtown Los Gatos. Their hot chocolate is to die for... a lot of flavor so unlike the generic Starbucks/Swiss Mix crap that most places serve for hot cocoa. Their pastries are made from the finest ingredients. My favorites are their lemon tarts: either the blueberry covered lemon tart, the tart passionfruit tart and of course, the original lemon tart. They have a chocolate enrobed Monte Sereno over layers of flaky meringue. Their croissants come in both regular and mini-croissants. I never knew that such richness could come from a little sliver of chocolate that's in the center of their flaky, buttery croissants. Their sandwiches are not to be missed either. Gruyere cheese toasted above sliced artichoke hearts served on toasted bread. Vegetarian never tasted so good. They also make their own chocolates and even serve gelato during the summer months. Closed Mondays.
